Is there a chance that some host apps (like AUM) split mono input signals into stereo before it goes into plugins? That of course would be problematic then if NAM XT always duplicates the nam to both L+R channels.

I always prefer having only a single (mono) nam on my guitar. I’ll add stereo FX (delay/reverb) later in the chain for some widening.

This should be requested from developers of those hosts. We have no control over some of the things that we might seem accountable for. Thank you. Our first solution for that to limit this functionality but after initial reactions we thought end user should decide what to do.

    Thanks.

But can’t you provide a workaround and allow, like THAFKNAR, the user to select mono operation? It seems like it would be far simpler for a plugin to make a change lihe this than for hosts to make such an architectural change.

Thank you for the answer. Yes I actually wrote about that issue on the AUM discord server. Hopefully Jonatan will engage. Yes I agree that it would make sense that the host app should be able to switch between the mono or stereo version of a plugin. Just like Logic.

Is there a way for you in the meantime to internally grab the left channel (mute the right) and keep everything in mono (so only one NAM and IR is needed)? Maybe through some sort of Mono/Stereo toggle switch.
That would be awesome for older devices and also save some battery. I’m always afraid to run out of battery when gigging 😄 Thanks guys for your work!

PS: Does GigFast have the same signal routing like Nam XT?

I was waiting for a no-frills NAM profile loader and this is just the ticket, works and sounds great, thank you ArteraDSP!

I have one request for your consideration, if I may be so bold:

I am using NAM XT in dual stacked mode because I like to load a distortion pedal profile into Loader A and the Amp profile into Loader B. It would be great if there was an option to disable Loader A allowing audio to pass through to Loader B. Then perhaps I could use a MIDI footswitch to turn the pedal profile in Loader A on and off as required.

I'm curious why you wouldn't just use two instances and bypass the first when not needed.
I guess in standalone that wouldn't really work out though.

Yes, of course I have tried using second instance, but I do find NAMXT to be quite CPU intensive on my iPad pro M1, I'm seeing spikes even when idle.

I don't know how to accurately measure this, but I will if someone shows me how.

You can make it by using presets and change them without gaps. One preset with distortion active one with bypass.

We will find a workaround for host caused stereo operation for sure.

As Jonatan (AUM dev) says on Discord a stereo/mono toggle within a plugin seems to be the only way to change stereo to mono in AUM atm

@ArteraDSP can you possibly add link dial control to the left & right of the NAM loader section like the IR loader also please add input/output slider control like you added to Gigfast If can add visual numerical metering as well that would be ace
Also if you can add the pre / post eq option like Gigfast.
Is the eq currently post eq ( after NAM profile) ?
Lastly please add a wet / dry dial to the IR section if possible
NAMXT is excellent. Just those suggestions would help a lot
    :)
