Does Audiobus app iOS now require Internet
I’ve been using Audiobus for years now for live performance. Last evening, I got a Network Issue notification when I launched the app. As a result, I was unable to load my sets. This has never happened before. When I got home, everything worked fine until I put my iPad Pro in Airplane mode to simulate my performance environment, ie no internet access as I have a wifi only iPad, and I received the same network error message. I then connected my iPad Pro via wifi to a router that is not connected to the internet and got the same network error message.

Yes. 😕
With regrets… the app has been sold to new owners and so far the ‘improvements’ they have made has been to move it to subscription, and yes, require a constant internet connection.
Oh well…deleted.
What a no-go 🥴
Thanks for letting us know!
Yes, deleted here to, and their other apps.
Maybe it won’t make much difference, but I also rated their stuff with 1 star. Hurt when I did it to my favourite iOS piano, retro piano![:( :(](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Does Audiobus app iOS now require Internet?
Yes, it does since the last update I think.
There was a lot of talk about it on the Forum last week. And a lot of unhappy people.
I'm hoping this rot doesn't reach VHS Synth but I'll be removing their apps as they 'update' to this model regardless. I'm all for the iOS music market evolving into something more sustainable but sacrificing working apps and user goodwill for tracking and subscriptions doesn't feel like progress.
Does this reflect badly on AudioKit?
Will people stop buying AudioKit apps if they are going to end up like these ones in a year or two in the hands of a different developer?
Does this forum require logging in everytime been playing up the last few days.
They have made Audiobus useless to anyone doing live stuff on the move by needing an internet connection to open.
I uninstalled all the apps they have taken over. Everyone else I know uninstalled them. Their tracking must be fairly useless or they would have tracked the fact that no-one likes their apps anymore 😂
No problem here.

I think Matt from Audiokit posted something on the forum here about why those apps had been sold. They were not apps that he himself made, if I remember, though I don't remember all the specifics, but the recent Audiokit apps were made by Matt, so I think it's very unlikely they'd be sold. Ask him I guess.
Just saw that in the AudioBus app:
Nice.
Thanks all for your replies and feedback! @Simon
I can confirm the update pushed out today returns the app state to not requiring internet access. Very happy about this development. I will still work to duplicate my setups in AUM but only as a backup. For me, Audiobus combined with Audiobus Remote are perfect for my live performance use case.
They don't seem to know where they want to go ... tumbling around.
Anybody understood what "premium" feature they offer for a subscription?
I suppose some regular features got removed and will only work with a subscription now?
