None of the IAA Lumbeat drummers are working with AUM? [SOLVED]

I can’t be the only one having this problem, and it’s entirely possible that I missed this discussion, but I’ve tried every single Lumbeat app I own; Soft Drummer, Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Reggae, Mid East, etc.

NONE of them work or play any sound with AUM running. Now, being IAA apps, I know the usual practice of starting the IAA app first, then load the app into AUM as an IAA app. No sound!

I hit the play/transport in AUM -OR- the big Play button in any of the Lumbeat drummers and I can see the sequencer running from left to right, but absolutely zero sound! Funny thing is I can swipe up and force close AUM and all of a sudden the apps work and play sound.

Latest version of AUM, latest iPadOS 18.2.1, and all Lumbeat apps up to date.

Of course I’ve restarted my iPad Pro M1 1TB (16GB RAM) and still have no Drummer love in AUM.

Anyone else??? Not really a big deal, as I’ve been spending most of my time in Drambo anyway, and I can export Drummer session audio files to use with Flexi and that all works great. I was just kind of surprised for these not to work the way they used to.

Maybe it was the recent AUM update that broke things? @j_liljedahl @LuisMartinez

Edit: Nope! It was my foolish playing with AUM settings that “broke” things! Sorry guys (the developers of these amazing apps) Thank you Ed @espiegel123

    What sample rate and buffer size?

  • Strange one Edward… using Soft Drummer in AUM as we speak and everything fine… I’ll try some more .

    Thank you. That was it!

    I don’t remember changing it, but somehow AUM was set to 44.1 S/R with a 2048 buffer size. I changed it back to 48/1024 and everything now works as expected.

    @espiegel123 was spot on!

    I should have known better and checked this first before posting. But I’ll leave it in case anyone else decided to play with AUM settings and then can’t figure out why things aren’t working.

    I've read that some apps don't handle the larger 2048 buffer size correctly; the Lumbeats may be among them.

  • I'm so glad I read this today. Only two days ago I was pulling what's left of my hair out, trying to discover why Reggae Drummer wasn't outputting any sound in AUM.

    Changing the buffer from 2048 to 1024 works! Now it plays perfectly

    This is the way.
    I'm pretty sure someone else, me even, will run in to this and finding the solution here is always awesome, especially if it was a simple "doh..." one. Can save people hours/days. I hate when questions are removed because they got solved. Thanks.
