Any tips for avoiding clicks with pitch change widgets in Loopy Pro? (Solved)

edited January 25 in Loopy Pro

I’m just wondering whether anyone has any tips for avoiding clicks when a widget is set up to change the pitch of a clip in real time when it’s pressed?

I think I realise why it’s happening - the pitch change being applied at a non zero crossing point for the waveform (that’s what it sounds like anyway and it doesn’t always happen) - and, if that’s the case, maybe it’s simply unavoidable?

I’ve tried playing around with adding a ramp value but this doesn’t really seem to help.

Are there any best practice tips anyone can share? Cheers.

  • @Robin2 : I think the pitch change wasn’t intended so much for real-time manipulation. I’d recommend copying the loops to clips with preset pitch change or changing the pitch while the clip is not playing. In the upcoming version, clips will be able to respond to midi notes like a sampler and don’t have this issue triggered by midi notes.

Ah, yes, multiple clips with the pitch change already locked in - sounds like a very good workaround, thanks @espiegel123.

Even more reason to be excited for the upcoming version! Cheers.
