Great high energy piece! I liked the change at 1:20. Also liked how you doubled the tempo at 3:19. Lots of things going on to hold interest. Love the sudden ending. Sounds great in my headphones. Cool track. Well done.

  • Amazing track! Also an amazing backstory! I forget, which DAW do you use these days mate? :)

  • Amazing track. Loved the backstory and cover too. Gives food for imagination to work on a music video in my brain

Hey Jim, thank you for the comment. I use Cubasis pretty exclusively for producing for the last year. The mixing is usually done in Auria Pro and the mastering in Logic.

Ah, the multi-app workflow. But yeah, I love Cubasis. Has great mixdown features in its own right. Auria Pro still looks nice. Logic's AI Mastering Assistant is superb, although I do prefer my mastering chain. Grand Finale 2 is just simply wonderful.

I still wanna to try to compare Logic mastering to GF2. With replacing as the end goal. Do you mostly use presets in GF2 or do lots of tweaking ?

I just use the EDM Punch preset. Only thing I tweak is input until the signal hits around -14LuFS in Youlean's Loudness Meter. :)

I will try and compare with Logic mastering. I would save me paying Logic rental.

Exactly! Here's how I master my tracks...

Doctor Vibe (ADC/DAC and Vinyl off, compressor set to 9 percent), Grand Finale 2 (EDM Punch preset), a brickwall limiter set to -1dB (sometimes a stray peak will pop through from GF2, and this also ensures plenty of headroom for converting to lower-quality lossy formats like mp3 and m4a), and finally Youlean's loudness meter (you can use the free version without the graphs, or pay for the graphs) to ensure the audio hits around -14LuFS (if it fluctuates between -13.5LuFS and -14.5LuFS, I'm good).

Hope this helps. I deleted Logic off my iPad due to using this mastering method. :)

Thank you for sharing your trade secrets 😁 Doesn't GF2 as a brick wall limiter ? Which Brick wall limiter do you use ?

  • I think you are making incredible synthwave; liked, subbed :)

Usually Cubasis' brickwall limiter, but any brickwall limiter plugin should do when mastering in Cubasis. I just prefer Cubasis'. 😂
