The February 2025 "JimAudio" LPF Challenge

Alright, this month's challenge is simple. You must use JimAudio apps as your only sound source to build a track in. SO, for instance, you could...

-Use GR-II (and if you have Poison 202 and PureAcid, that's a bonus)
-Use PureAcid on its own
-Use GR-16 on its own
-Use JimAudio's plugins in a DAW of choice as your only sound source.

External samples (drums, effects samples, etc), external wavetables, and external sf2s are allowed within GR-16 and GR-II. So are external AUv3 effects plugins. The only AUv3 plugins not allowed are synth AUv3s not developed by JimAudio. (And no being cute by trying to sample oneshots from your favourite AUv3 synth to import. Nice try. 😂 )

And of course as usual, any external app (DAW with AUv3 effect plugins, Trinity, etc) is allowed for mastering your audio prior to posting.

You can post to SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Youtube, Dropbox, etc. All genres are allowed. When sharing your post, be sure to write a small paragraph of how you used JimAudio's apps, and if you're so inclined, share a screenshot or two (unless you use a screen recording you posted to Youtube).

I'm looking forward to hearing what you all come up with! Best of luck!

Comments

  • Bump. Well, I didn't get GR-II, but I do plan to build something in Cubasis using only JimAudio's apps for sound sources. 😂

  • Hey, I'm in, only got pure acid, so that's what it will be for me. Am on it already.

  • Good choice! Still learning it, but that might be a good time to work on something and see how it comes out.

Excellent to hear! Yep, if you only have Pure Acid, that's legit! In fact, I can't wait to hear what you do with it. :)

Exactly! You know what's funny? I originally wasn't going to purchase GR-II, right? But where's the fun in that?! I purchased GR-II, and I've taken to it quite well actually. There are some parts that have me stumped, and I'm waiting for the manual to be released before I fully dive in. But so far, so good. I love it. That "DJ fade between patterns" function is superb!
