compact gig setup
An update to my live rig. I've worked for years with a dance group, and every semester I change things up a bit. Here I'm back to using my venerable 2nd Gen. iPad Pro (and pushing its limits), along with a Roland Handsonic 20 and my new Synido controller.
The homemade tray at right is made from corrugated plastic and duct tape, and held by an old flat snare drum basket mounted on a cymbal stand. (A lid covers it and allows me to leave many of the cables plugged in during transport.) This tray holds: Launchkey Mini, ancient D-link hub, Rolls MiniMix4, KIMISS audio interface (cheapo from Amazon), and an Irin midi wind controller.
The Launchkey knobs are mapped to the volume sliders in AUM, and the channel 8 knob controls tempo. The right foot pedal triggers into the Handsonic, while the left pedal is a sustain for the Launchkey.
The audio out of the Handsonic goes through the KIMISS and then into the D-link. This allows me to run it through AUs when needed and control its volume from the Launchkey. (I could also run the Handsonic in mono and use the other KIMISS channel for a mic.) The Synido controller is set in "piano" layout and mainly plays Sunrizer pads, though I've also used it for percussion sounds. I also sometimes incorporate my homebuilt foot midi controller, running into a 2nd iPad.

wow, HPD-20!
i still prefer venerable HPD-15 over it (because HPD-15 has ribbon controls and D-Beam).
and here's mine minimum minimorum live rig.
there are other bigger setups, but this is what always resides in my backpack:
