Cartoon characters definitely help with AI's difficulty with anatomy. Unfortunately it's a little harder to keep things consistent. The style can change drastically from one video generation to the next. Vidu's reference to image helps, but even that has its limitations.
I don't think it will ever replace traditional animation, and I certainly wouldn't wait to although it will likely make the "tweening" process easier.
