I’d say yes. The A,B,C & D handles in particular are good for live manipulation. Most parameters are on screen, no deep menu diving (except for mod matrix maybe).
Why not test yourself?
my iPad can't run Logic but I LOVE alchemy in Logic on my iMac... it's my main sampler by a mile. Originally I had read that sample alchemy could play patches authored on macs.... but is this true? I mean I had 4 layers, infinite LFO's, Envelope followers, 3 note-on random values, per voice fx send (ie. route mpe pressure to fx send), etc, etc ,etc. Does the iPad version really play those patches? What I have seen of the iPad version looks like a different beast. I'm very curious because I am wondering if I need a new iPad or a new laptop for taking on tour (eventually).
@stown Alchemy and Sample Alchemy are different plugins.
@R_2 sorry it's been a while since I scanned the internet for Alchemy compatibility and got confused by the "Alchemy Sampler" name.... thanks for clarifying that. So then... everything I asked remains the same, but instead I meant "Alchemy for iPad". Can any users verify that patches authored in Alchemy in Logic on an iMac are 100% compatible and playable within Alchemy for iPad?
From what I can google, apple support docs for "Alchemy in Logic Pro for iPad" say:
"Note: Logic Pro for iPad Alchemy provides playback compatibility with Logic Pro for Mac projects. You can load presets for this plug-in, but full parameter editing is available only when using Logic Pro for Mac."
Which to me seems to imply that I could use my iMac patches on the iPad.... but.... [grits teeth] I would love to read/hear any user-experiences in this area. My iPad can't run Logic so I would have to buy a new one.... but am hesitant to pay the $ as this would be my primary reason for getting an iPad vs say a macbook
@stown i don’t have a Mac with Logic myself but i remember reading others opening Mac Alchemy presets without a problem.
I’d be surprised if it wouldn’t work.
@R_2 That would be amazing if it did! Logic Alchemy for Mac is the bee's knees! It has almost every feature I want in a chromatic sampler.
