MIDI clock from Loopy Pro to external keyboard
I must be missing something simple, but I can not figure out how to get Loopy Pro clock to act as master clock to my external keyboard.
I want the arpegiator in my keyboard to sync to tempo.
I’ve read up on MIDI clock, but can’t find the answer to the most basic thing. Turn it on in Loopy Pro.

I have the keyboard set as a MIDI Clock Destination in LP, so I am guessing it is a hardware issue?
What keyboard and how is it connected?
NanoKEY Studio, for instance, only sends or receives MIDI clock over USB connection. It doesn't work over Bluetooth.
What keyboard?
Have you turned on midi clock sync on your keyboard and set it to receive clock sync?
Thanks for all the help. I finally did get it working. I think it was a combination of the beats for measure and the offset throwing me off.
I’ve got the metronome in LPro going about 60 BPM but the keyboard arp is going four times that fast. Is there a way to address that?
RE: What Keyboard. M-VAVE SMK-25 Bluetooth.
Is there a setting for PPQN in your hardware? Standard MIDI clock is 24ppqn. It sounds like your keyboard is expecting something different. If you can't change it in hardware, then there are some Mozaic scripts that can act as a clock divider.
Be sure that you don't have a midi loop going on too. Make sure the keyboard isn't set as a clock source in Loopy Pro.
I can not find a setting for PPQN for the M-VAVE SMK-25 or the M-VAVE SMK-25 MINI.
Keyboards are NOT set as LP MIDI Clock Sources.
Sounds like a bug in the M-Vave. Do you have other apps that can send midi clock to the M-Vave?
Have you tried rebooting and reconnecting everything?
https://patchstorage.com/midi-clock-tool/ may be able to help if you can't get the arp to play in-time any other way.
to be honest, though, I have not tried this with Loopy Pro routing clock to external hardware. It was developed before Loopy Pro came out and was only tested in AUM. So, if you don't already own Mozaic, just ask before buying, and I'll try some tests out to my NanoKEY Studio.
Cool. Thanks

I’ve written to M-Vave about it. Getting the same behavior from 2 different units. I need to test on nonMVave hardware to make sure this is not normal
His isn't expected behavior unless there is some setting on the MVave that acts as a clock multiplier/divider. Lots of people use Loopy Pro's MIDI Clock to drive external hardware.
I found the ARP note setting for the SMK-25 series of keyboards. It is configurable right from the keyboard. Holding the ARP button and pressing some labeled keys on the keyboard itself. It is also configurable from the CubeSuite software.
Hi,
Op are you sure you don't have multiple midi clock masters going on? That would explain the dbling of tempo.
I had that problem also way back with Korg Gadget. Turned out to be 2 sources of midi clock.
