Loopy Pro doze real time-stretch. Can you clarify your question?

  • No real-time time stretch is perfect, nor can it be.
    Loopy Pro's is damn good.

Just the clicks if adjusting host tempo.

    Is it normal ?

I wont use timestretch if clicking is the norm.

    Can you post a demonstration?

Are you talking about clicks while changing tempo during playback?

Details and a demonstration are important.

  • @sigma79 : I'll listen later which timestretch mode are you using (check in the clip settings)? Keep in mind that continually changing tempo is a challenge for realtime timestretching.

    Just normal time stretch.

    Just thought id ask anyway.

    Thanks.

  • @sigma79 : the artifacts are happening when you keep changing tempo while it is still calculating the last time-stetch. When the time-stretching is done there aren't clicks. Time-stretch wasn't designed for keeping up streams of tempo changes. If you watch the inside of the clips, you can see an animation indicating that the loop is being recalculated for the time stretch. You might try changing the time-stretch type to the fast time-stretch option.

  • I find that time stretch goes smoother in increments than with continuous change. I tend to use buttons +1, -1, +10, -10 rather than a dial to adjust tempo live.

How do you set up button increments wim ?

  • @sigma79 : the critical thing to understand is that if you are changing tempo while it is still calculating the timestretch , you are likely to get clicks. Frequent small increments are sometimes the worst case.

    Thanks.

Theres an incremental dramo setting via knob, which seems better but only goes from 109 to 200 bpm.

  • @sigma79 : the Adjust Tempo action is what you would use to change the tempo with a button or slider. If used in a button, you can set the button to nudge the tempo by a particular amount up or down.

If you are using loopy as an AU, this only works if host sync is off.
