Korg M1 Voices......got uh, well....Voices?

edited February 19 in General App Discussion

Hi,
I am wanting to use the Korg M1 plugin for a vocal /formant sound. I like the sound of some of the airy /breathy voices. The "ah" sounds (formants) are very nice.......

However...... (there's always one of those)

The preset I have, which is a combo of two of their presets.... is adding in some, well, unwanted voices. I play a note on the keyboard and get the M1 to "sing" the note I am playing.....but then, as the note lingers on, this other, somewhat subtle but rather disturbing "voice" comes creeping into sound. And I mean creepy in.

Take a Listen - to the attached m4a file. Anybody know the M1 and its presets well enough to suggest how to limit the voices or get rid of this extra unwanted voice towards the end of each note.

Thanks!!

What preset are you using? In the Osc section you probably have Osc Mode set to Double, try changing that to Single. If now you only get the unwanted voices then you need to copy the settings of Osc 2 to Osc 1, or just lower the Osc level of the unwanted one.

Edit: gah, you said it was a combo sound, then you nees to figure out which one is producing the unwanted voices, tap this button and try disabling each one by one:

Try going to the oscillator page and turning the volume of the second oscillator to 0

I think your example sounds great.

IM1 has some great vocalization presets with full ADSR control over each of the Timbres - this is under the performance tab.

It's a wild layout, but not as wild as IWAVESTATION.

Haha. Now imagine editing this via a two-line display on the original unit.
