Can multiple mixer channel faders be grouped/moved simultaneously?

Can multiple mixer channel faders be grouped/moved simultaneously?

Thanks

    Thanks

You could use a slider widget to do that .

  • Can you mention a specific mixer? I use AUM and you can MIDI learn each channel volume control.

An answer for the most common mixers is good to put on the record.

Loopy Pro's mixer is implied by the forum category the post is in.
    I often overlook that myself.

  • Thanks all!

@espiegel123, It's while I'm recording a bunch of different things and fine tuning volume levels as I'm working through building a song that I'm interested in being able to, say, adjust the faders for the vocal tracks as a group, but independently from the instruments. So, it can vary song by song which specific faders I'd want to group.

So, it's more a "dev" time activity vs one I want to do while "perform"ing the song, so not sure how conducive it is to the solution you mention, but sounds like that's my only option, ya?

    Thanks again

For changing multiple faders at once that is your only option. Depending on how you have things set up, you could use sends/bus to achieve the same effect. For example, you could send three different colors to one bus. Turn off any outputs for the colors themselves and have the bus handle the output.

I don’t have Loopy Pro (yet!) so I can’t advise about that but wouldn’t the “usual” solution be to create a mix bus and send all the vocal track channels to that so that the mix bus fader controls all vocals simultaneously - assuming that the individual vocal tracks are already correctly balanced with each other? Sorry if I’m missing the point here.

^ this is how I would approach it, and/or just routing to a color and adjusting the color's fader, depending on what I need to do.

  • Makes sense, thanks all

I guess there are advantages to doing it either way. If you want those faders that are grouped to output to different busses to each other then you might just want to control those faders directly to maintain relative levels. This is what you have VCA faders for in a mixing environment.
it’s actually cool that you can set it up with VCA style faders using the widget approach - very deep, very powerful. Auria Pro has the capability through it’s group fader option.. Logic Pro for iPad should, but it doesn’t, even though Logic on the desktop does.
