problem recording audio for a sequence

I've edited a sequence and now I want to make an audio recording of it. I have the sequence panel open. I click on REC and am presented with an option to Record Audio. In the Configuration tab, I've selected Combined Outputs.

When I click on Start Recording, I have to click the button to start the transport. That leaves a gap at the beginning of the recording that I later have to trim out. I haven't been able to find another way to effectively create a full audio recording of a Song based on the sequence.

Perhaps there's a single button way to do the Start Recording and start the transport play at the same time, but I can't find it. Thx for any help.

  • I insert Neon as an effect on the Master channel to capture audio performances.

  • The only Neon I see in the app store is a MIDI sequencer. Is there another one?

    Neon Audio Editor

However, you don't need it to do this. One way is to resample the playback to a new loop set up for that purpose. [edit - see below]

There are probably better ways. Best to wait for @espiegel123 to answer. He'll know the best way to go about it.

Thx! I'll be watching for something from him.

    nvm. I was being dumb.

Just tap the export button at the bottom - right of the sequencer screen.

Unless - you need to actually record a performance where you're doing more than just playing back the sequence.

THAT'S IT! It was hard to find. Exactly what I wanted! Thanks so much!

I was positive that you could do it, but had a memory lapse.

I don't think it's in the manual (yet).

  • Resampling to a loop is a good way to go if you want to record a performance that's more than just playing back the sequence.

I will add this to the manual.
