Loopy Pro As AUV3 Sampler
Hey Gang, I'm finally getting some time stop stumble my way around and explore Loopy Pro. I see it often referred to as a sampler. Does this mean when I load it into a DAW as an au I can play the sliced samples via midi etc? Are there any tutorials on this aspect?
Or have I got it all wrong?

Sampler means something can record and play audio. Loopy can record and play back by touch or midi. It has a slicer widget that can play back slices in a recorded clip. All of these can be triggered by midi. Loopy has an extensive midi learn system and allows you to set up midi mapping manually.
Clip speed, pitch and direction can be adjusted by touch or midi.
There are many video and performance tutorials for it. You can find links to some here: https://wiki.loopypro.com/Main_Page#Videos_and_Tutorials
and will find more by searching YouTube.
Hi @espiegel123 thanks for your reply. I guess my question was a tad broad. What I meant is can I load Loopy as an au instrument in a DAW with a sliced sample and simple play it with a midi controller "out of the box" without having to set up midi learn et al? I've not seen any videos that cover this. Happy for my searching skills to be show as meagre though
In the current version, you would need to midi learn the triggers. It would take less than a minute and could be saved as a template so that it doesn’t have to be done again. In the upcoming update, there is a way to set that up without MIDI learning the clip slicer. I wouldn’t say that clip slicing is Loopy Pro’s main selling point. It’s slicing is less sophisticated than something like Koala or other AUv3 that let you customize slices.
Perfect, that answers my question. Not using Loopy for this purpose principally but thought it may be a good option for this task. Thanks so much @espiegel123.
