Loopy Freeze

I want to build something analogous to a Freeze Pedal in Loopy Pro. Is there a way to create a "soft edge" loop. By that I mean a loop that fades into itself at the out point, so as to create a seamless sounding pad loop.

Try setting the loop boundary crossfade to its maximum. You might turn on tail recording,

Thanks so much for the ideas. I tried them. Had high hopes, but apparently crossfade wasn't designed for this extreme use.

I want to build a freeze effect similar to the setup that David Gilmore used for his amazing acoustic version of "Shine on..."
His effect is not really looping, it's more about reverb. I built out his "Sound-on-sound" reverb effect years ago in Ableton. Check out my tutorial on YouTube if interested:

I would like to recreate something like this in Loopy and/or AUM, but Im not sure I am up to the task. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

  • @TracyEvans : you should experiment with the technique shown in the video, using a send from the guitar to an effects bus with an effect that does a freeze. There are a number of reverbs with freeze built in and probably some delays. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has implemented a freeze effect in Drambo.

I did a quick test by putting Blackhole on a bus. Turn idle off for it. I had a button unfreeze Blackhole. Turn up the send briefly. Turn freeze on. Turn the send down.

    Something like this

The trigger widget action nudges a do nothing slider for 300 ms so that 300 ms of audio make it into the reverb before it freezes.

  • @TracyEvans here is demo of one way to do it

  • AMAZING! Thanks so much!!! I will give this a shot to see if I can recreate it.
