NoiseSpace
As is often the case with Igor Vasiliev apps, I find the vast array of controls in NoiseSpace somewhat bewildering. It doesn’t help that I don’t like to RTFM.🙂
I found that most of my time with the app was spent trying to tame things down. I succeeded to my liking and this was the result.
Other apps used:
Nerd Synth
Attack Softener
Cascade reverb
GlitchStep
midiGATES
Bark Filter
Comments much appreciated, especially yours @jwmmakerofmusic .

If you didn't see this before I highly recommend the advice on this thread:

I just checked and all of Vasiliev apps have PDF manuals from his website.
As I said in that thread, it's a huge help for understanding apps. It's like having your own private tutor.
Nicely done! Love the textures. Quite different from the more relaxed drones you've made.
Yeah, Igor's apps are difficult for me to grok, even when I do rtfm lol. But they are great apps.
Just not for me personally.
Torn a bit, because I like the look of this but in terms of sound I feel like ID700 covers similar territory for my needs. Am I just not being imaginative enough (it's quite possible these days)?
Id700 has randomization but the randomizations are largely unusable, at least they were the last time I tried. NoiseSpace produces some really cool randomized outputs. There will be tons of other differences between the 2 apps - the whole concept of background layers and main layers, easy ability to mix between them, the binary counters and so much more are all unique to NoiseSpace - but the quality randomization jumps out as an immediate benefit of NoiseSpace that has appeal to people who don't want to put the time in to crafting their own more intentional stuff. For those who do, the whole workflow here is so different from Id700 that users are likely to make very different things in both apps, I'd say.
Thanks. Yeah, I tend to rely on the randomize button in ID700 and probably would with this as well. Listening to the demo videos I have a sense that the tonal palette is quite broad here.
With ID700 I do roll the dice quite a lot, but if I'm in a harsh noise mood it feeds the beast often enough.
I suppose resistance is futile.
Thank you very much @jwmmakerofmusic.
Yeah, the first word that comes to mind with this app is certainly not “relaxed”! 🙂
Lol, exactly. I'm tempted to buy it, even if I don't grok it. The idea behind Experimental music afterall is experimenting. All the best Yvonne. ❤️
Nice! A proper presentation of what this new Igor app is capable of.
Thanks very kindly, @Edward_Alexander!
If you want experimental, I can’t think of a better place to spend your money.🙂
