Animoog Z on iPhone becomes unresponsive

The Moog sale made me try Animoog Z on my iPhone 16 Pro again. The keys work -- it makes sound -- but most of the interface and buttons become unresponsive after a very short while. I've tried reinstalling the app: same thing. I have the full unlock: restoring it doesn't help.

Is this working for anyone on iPhone? I'm on iOS 18.3.1.

  • Same. Always been totally solid, but opened it recently and it was awful. Old iPhone on iOS 15. Will try it on my iPad later. Be a shame if it’s broken.

    I’ve had this issue on iPad for a while. It was never addressed. Despite multiple emails I continue to send.

    I suggest emailing Moog and letting them know.

    Mine has also become unresponsive, but i still have the original Animoog on my phone and ipad and it works perfectly (once i changed the buffer size to 128 - 256 has some static) and was always better for sounds i think. The interface on Z is trippier but not quite as analogee sounding.

    Moog will straighten this out i have confidence…

    Thanks, John. I just sent this email to Moog:

    Dear Moog,

    I have Animoog Z with some IAPs, including the full unlock. When I installed it on my iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 18.3.1), they keyboard plays sounds, but most of the interface, including buttons and patch selector becomes inoperable/unresponsive very soon after starting. 
    Other users have verified this behavior on iPhone: 

    Please fix your wonderful app.

  • Working fine here on iOS 17 on my iPhone and ios16 on my 2020 IPad Pro. Maybe an issue with iOS 18?

  • Update: Moog's corporate owner sent me an autogenerated email saying that they hadn't gotten to my query yet.

  • I finally got a response from Moog’s owner:

    “Thank you for your email.
    “I do apologize for any issues and frustrations caused. We have raised this as a bug with the developers to fix. Unfortunately, we cannot give a timescale at present for the next update to be released. Your feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter.

    “If you have any further questions or need assistance in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out.

  • And then they will close your ticket but assure you that they’re still working on it.

  • I did discover that if u swipe left and right on the preset window u can at least change the presets…

  • Actually that’s the key! Swipe everything with quick flicks and all the buttons will work. It’s kind of a workaround until Moog rectifies :)

    It happened as you said. I’m sorry to leave a negative review, but that’s what reviews are for: to give a candid assessment to prospective buyers.
