Workflow for saving and starting new loops during performance?

Hey friends, I'm just trying to imagine a workflow that will allow me to save my loops like a snapshot of the project during the middle of a set. Then clear all loops so i can start a new piece. The workflow should NOT disable live audio feed for any reason...

Lately i just clear all loops and keep moving forward through the set but i've come up with some really cool improv pieces that I wish I could've saved somehow.

The solution needs to be quick and not make the loopy hang or cut off audio.

Maybe save states and going back with those? Save mid set?

Thought about some sort of project recall scenario but that cuts off audio and reloads all AUV3 so that seems like it could be problematic.

Ideas?

CHEERS ! :)

Copy Page action with Copy Clip Content turned off would work, I think.

  • Oh that project would get big pretty fast... I suppose if I start out with a blank project template and set up follow actions so no two pages can play loops at the same time this could work. I would need to figure out how to decouple each page from the master clock and somehow reset that and also recall it when the page is recalled? Hmmm much to consider...

  • I wonder if exporting the project, then clearing all loops with an action would interrupt the audio or glitch the app?

  • can you export/dupe the project with widget command or midi command?

    No.

You can save the project as a new one with an action though. Maybe save, then save as new, followed by clearing the loops. You'd have to see if that disrupts audio. I'm guessing it would.

Have you tried a simple Save with Save Points enabled in settings? That'd be the first thing I would try.

No. But there is a Save Project command with Save New option. That might work for you. When you activate it, the open project is saved as a new project.
