Advice for starting to use loopy pro
Hey. I am looking at buying an IPad 10th gen, or a Mini 7. Wondering if either will run loopy pro well enough for my purposes. I use to use a drum machine with bass and drums, but could only fit about 100 songs on them. I may wish to add a little rhythm guitar, keyboards or backing vocals. I am wondering if either of these choices are capable of accomplishing that. If Songs can be saved on external storage to playback at a live performance? I may never do live gigs again, and am okay to upgrade the tablet down the road if I have to. But if one of these are a better choice for me to get started is I guess what I am asking. I am looking at purchasing them through telus with a plan, if one wanted to look up the two I am looking at, not ready to spend more money than that right now. Thank you! I am betting similiar questions get asked here all the time, sorry if it is repetitive, I tried to look for other posts first, but admittedly, not that hard. Thank you!

Processor wise, either of those should be fine for what you describe. It's only when you start to use tons of plugins that you need a badass iPad.
External storage is a huge weak spot for iOS though. You don't want to count on that. There are some exceptions, but in general it should be thought of as archival storage or storage from which you swap things in and out of, not for working storage.
If there's one place you shouldn't scrimp. It's on internal storage space.
That said, you can store quite a bit of song material on all but the smallest storage space devices compared to your drum machine! There's no comparison.
I don’t have too much issue with the mini 7. It can handle a lot. That said, I think there are some cases where it feels limiting processor wise when I add a lot. It’s hard to tell.
That said, I would still choose it over the others simply because I prefer the form factor. I have a pro 11” that is too big and heavy for me—others don’t mind but it depends on what you like.
Completely agree with @wim about storage place. Don't take the basic 64GB version like I did. Huge mistake.
I agree with @wim and @filo01 , the more storage the better. If you go for a Mini 7 like I did, get the 512gb storage option mate. Or if you want the bigger form factor of a base iPad, I'd say to get the 512gb iPad 11 that releases in a few days. 256gb just doesn't cut it for me personally.
