30 minutes live set Digitakt+Digitone+Circuit

edited March 7 in Hardware

Here Youtube reupload of my older live set from 2020 .. my video recorder failed during recording, so i have just audio. Also lost all source files (backup failure), so that music is lost like tears in rain and this audio is last remaining piece.

Entire set was made with Digitakt I. , Digitone I. and Circuit OG.

  • Usually not my kind of poison, but I was hooked until the end. First I was stunned by how good all the synths sounded then by how seamless the whole thing unfolds. Are those synths from the digitone, the digitakt or the Circuit OG?
The drums sounds are also impressive. Were these stock drums sounds or your own collection ? A bit of both?
Curious to learn a bit more about your workflow and what each machine was used for.
Anyway Great set. One of the best thing in the genre I heard over here.

  • Psy-trance tastic. :)

Thanks, really glad you enjoyed it !

Drums are my collection.. in many cases hihats and snares are made with enveloeps and filter from various short noise waves (my own collection + built in ones)

Bass is always single cycle saw (mostly my own collection, made by mysel with Obsidian), then shaped with Digitakt’s filter/envelope/overdrive.

Some arpwggios are from Digitakt too (again mostly built from single waveforms from my collection)

Most of melodic sounds (esoecially pads) is Digitone and Circuit provides additional leads and 303ish sounds. Would say that about 20% synth sounds is Circuit, 70% digitone and 10% digitakt.

Sometimes i sample Digitone into Digitakt , but then i always tweak that sound even more in Digitakt, i use at maximum Digitakt like “synth”

Thanks for your insight. No wonder why the asking price for Elektron gears is so high. The Digitakt would definitely be my first purchase should I have the money and the will to go the hardware way! Those seems like incredibly powerful machines.

Yeah, i would say Digitakt (and Digitone) are best invested money into my music hobby i ever did in my entire life. There is SOO much inspiration within those boxes !
