  • The means of corruption…

  • I haven’t watched the videos yet but the title makes me think of oligapolies. The people with all the assets makes those without
dance for their benefit. It seemed to work for Henry the 8th… he even solved the religion problem by making himself the head of the church. Trump has many parallels with Hank #8.

Ultimately I do believe that the oligarchs seek the ‘holy grail’ of control.
Marx thought this possible via the control of the means of production.
They seek control of the means, thus deciding who does what, when where and how. All this while maintaining the illusion we have control of our lives.

  • Marx?
    Groucho
    Harpo
    Chickpea
    Zeppo
    Or Gummo

    Karl scratches his head.

Control the means of production? Who gets control? The people? The state (which I assume are the people under Marxism)?

So many swings at that pitch and no home runs.

Duck Soup- The means of production. But only if your name is Donald and you invoke the insanity clause.

It’s proletariat the worker’s, but Marx thought it would occur first in Britain, being the first to industrialise.

I think you might be interested in this:

    https://www.vcinfodocs.com/venture-capital-extremism

This extremism emerges from the power grab of right-wing venture capitalists in the tech industry. Having grown exceedingly rich in the first two internet bubbles, this element now seeks to compromise the US government, to assume a new level of power and wealth, and attain forms of legal, economic and regulatory sovereignty, where they can operate outside of any other nation-state power. The resultant ideology is racist, eugenicist, fascist and authoritarian in nature, often openly so.

Tech fascists are working to establish their own sovereign, distributed state. This is the Network State: a new, billionaire-backed nation made up of crypto cities and colonies across the United States, Latin America, Africa, the Mediterranean, the Philippines and others. This project is already well underway, and the Network State is the ultimate manifestation of their ideology.

This is indeed the goal of Peter Thiel and his gang of predators.

Thanks for the information, I’ll definitely be checking it out, the description in the first paragraph matches exactly to what I have been finding and alluding, it emerges from within the ‘deep state’ often the military of the US and UK and has captured most western governmental systems, often multiple parties, whilst just using these as a means to gain more control, they don’t strictly owe any allegiance to them.

  • Also from Friedrich List’s bleak view of unfettered free trade, neo-liberalism as we call it today.

  • I liked Benn's presentation.

Benn was influenced by the Technofeudalism book, mentioned in this article:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/sep/24/yanis-varoufakis-technofeudalism-capitalism-ukraine-interview

Some other authors mentioned in the article:

Mariana Mazzucato - algorithmic attention rents
    Roger McNamee - Zucked
Shoshana Zuboff - The Age of Surveillance Capitalism

I think the name Technofeudalism could be improved. The term "algorithmic attention rents" is quite a mouthful, but I think it is more accurate.

I want to contemplate further what Chris Hedges is saying about the death of democracy. Though as a lifelong hacker, I still feel that we hackers have special powers, like cheat codes.

Which is a good segue into Benn's next video on adversarial noise:

A great companion to that Technofeudalism book is George Monbiot's Invisible Doctrine: The Secret History of Neoliberalism.

  • The feudal security state is taking shape nicely, with tacit oversight from your elected officials and spawned from the deep state to its corporate partners where there is little to no oversight.

Wow… you’re making sense today. Still extreme and not a great conversation but sensible.
