Side Chain Comp or Ducking, or...
Hi everybody,
Here's my question :
I want to use one track of Loopy (that would be drums) to compress another track of Loopy in real time. Ideally, I would send one track in AB to an effect app, the other track to the same effect app in another pipeline, and get an output with the compressed track.
I thought this could be achieved with SunVox, but the app can't separate two inputs.
I could also use a beat synced ducking effect with MIDI on/off capabilities.
Any ideas ?
Thank you for your time, and please excuse my poor english.

Beatmaker 2 could do it.... but.... if you have iOS 8 you need a bit luck.
Thank you,
BeatMaker seems a bit overpowered for what I want to do... Plus it's a bit expensive.
I'm still under iOS7 though, so that's an option
Not sure of any apps except daws that have the side chain compression. I know BM2 does have
There was a thread on FB about this recently. Secondhand information, but Meteor, Auria, and Caustic also have sidechain compression. There is also a preset in Jasuto named "fiction" that works in the AB effects slot.
This SunVox video was also posted, so maybe some ideas here?

This seems like such an obvious opportunity for an enterprising developer. Two AB input slots, a HP/LP filter on the side chain and a very basic compressor circuit. Surely there is C/C++/ObjC code out in the wild that has all of those bits already written. I bet J Lilla could hook up in a weekend.
Those are some interesting ideas!
The issue with SunVox is that the compressor can't be side chained with another AB input (the video shows a sampler as trigger). Loopy has this multi-channel feature, which allows to route each track differently, yet SunVox doesn't handle its inputs as separated channels.
@syrupcore that could be promising!
Now, how exactly are we supposed to do this? And what can I do?
If you can get by with a LFO for ducking, I would recommend WOW, it goes in the effects slot. Loopy -> WOW -> Loopy.
Otherwise there is nothing you can use except full DAWs, which are anyway more expensive than WOW.
Btw, Auria does not come with a sidechainable compressor by default afaik, you need to buy one of the IAPs.
I can get by, yet I would like to be able to activate or deactivate the effect with a MIDI controller, is it possible? I'm gonna check.
WOW supports MIDI learn for pretty much everything. I was using another app to control it for instance.
I just bought WOW, it's some good stuff!
I can't figure out how to Activate/deactivate the whole thing, apart from the On/off button on the audiobus ribbon on the side of the screen, which is not MIDI assignable.
Plus I've been experiencing some sync slip with Loopy as the master clock, not necessarily an issue, I can simply give them the same BPM.
I'm still in the lookout for a simple side-chained compressor, which could come from @holderness ?
