How to Route Logic Pro X to Loopy Pro on iPad: Looking for Solutions
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased Loopy Pro for the iPad and would like to set up some looping there. I have several pieces of gear, including an Arturia KeyLab 61 that I use with Logic Pro X to generate synth sounds in Analog Lab V. I also own a Scarlett 18i8 audio interface and various instruments.
My goal is to route all these instruments (and the KeyLab 61 via Logic) into Loopy Pro on the iPad. However, I haven’t found a clear solution yet. Does anyone have experience or advice on how to send audio from Logic Pro X to Loopy Pro on the iPad?
Thank you in advance for your help and best regards,
Porposki

[edit] nvm, I misread the post.
Have you considered loading Loopy Pro AU as an FX in Logic? I don't have Logic so I can't provide suggestions on the most effective way to set it up. It could be as simple as adding Loopy as an FX on a send, then routing whichever track you want to capture in Loopy to that send, or if Logic supports it, possibly loading a multi-input FX instance of Loopy on each track.
If there's some reason you don't want to use Loopy as an AU FX, then there's no need to go down that line of thinking.
In that case, you should be able to leverage the Loopback plugin from KQ Voice Plugins suite to get audio into the standalone version of Loopy Pro. This involves loading a Loopback In plugin as an FX on the channels you want to send, and adding a corresponding Loopback Out plugin as an instrument in Loopy Pro. That's a less direct route, but if you want to use the standalone version of Loopy Pro its the best way to get Logic audio into Loopy.
You’re wanting to go from a Mac to the iPad? The easiest way with your setup might be to just get yourself a two channel usb audio interface for the iPad and send out of an out of the Scarlett to the iPad Audio Interface ins and then use the outs of the iPad audio interface to send into two channels of the Scarlett. This way your iPad becomes another external instrument to use in your setup.
Sorry, I missed the part about you wanting to go from LPX on the Mac. I thought you were talking about Logic Pro on iPad.
You will need either an audio interface attached to each device and route between them with audio cables or a dual-host audio interface like the iconnectivity
OMG guys, it works! Here’s my setup now:
I’m connecting my MIDI keyboards (an Arturia KeyLab 61 MK2 and an Akai MPK Mini) to my MacBook Pro running Logic. From Logic, I send the audio output through my Scarlett 2i4 and then route the balanced outputs from the 2i4 into my Scarlett 18i8, which is connected to my iPad via USB-C. That way, I can get the audio from Logic on the iPad, seamlessly switch between sounds in Logic, and loop everything in Loopy Pro.
Thank you all, this was a huge help!
Best regards,
Steven
If I want to integrate an AKAI Professional APC 40 Mk2 in the chain, would I need to connect it directly to my iPad? Or do I need an adapter with multiple USB-C ports for the iPad? Because I’m already connecting the interface via USB-C, and I’d also need to connect the APC 40 via USB-C to the iPad!?
You would need a powered hub to plug both the audio interface and the APC into and then that plugs into the iPad. It needs to be a powered hub because the APC requires power to be supplied via the USB connection. Not sure which hub would serve you best, but that has been talked about a lot already on the forum. The Anker hubs appear to get a lot of positive feedback. Hope this helps.
