almost makes me install again some DAW on my computer ... which is not going happen but.. man.. really amazing synth :-) Steve Duda knows his shit.
Serum 2 kills in features all the ios music apps ecosystem.
Looks awesome! https://www.xferrecords.com/products/serum-2
I watched a video that said “You get get ‘Serum 1’ for $9.99/month with the rent to own program on Splice.”
Then Serum 2 ($189) is a free update. Hmm… Mac and Windows demo downloads available. Huge rush to install.
It looks like Splice moved to only selling Serum 2 so the offer is $9.99/month for 25 months to own the new version if you don’t own version 1.
If you own serum…2 is free! There is a tip jar if one want to send some cheese tho! Cuz wow this is great! I could literally erase evey synth off my ipad if this was on ios. Hahaha😍
This is true, unfortunatelly never going to happen. Steve Duda once mentioned that codebase is totally incompatible with option of porting it to iOS
I tryed Serum2 in comparison to Icarus and Pigments. Serum has caught up again and is now ahead. Highlights: the split effects, spectral osci and it‘s modulations, LFO types, the MPE-implementation is also ok (like in Icarus and Pigments)…
Three of that kind is a little to much, says my purse.🤨😫
I don't know how these guys compete with Surge XT and VCV Rack, which are both free and do seemingly absolutely everything.
Yeah, I listened to the examples on their web site and found nothing extraordinary about Serum2. I like both Surge XT and Vital quite a bit and I can't imagine spending that kind of money for any soft synth these days.
I have Pigments and have felt pretty comfortable that I have my ‘super synth’ bases covered on desktop, but have been tempted by Serum because there are so many tutorials out there that use it. Even more tempting now. OTOH it’s fun to take a Serum tutorial and see if I can render it in Pigments.
Another reason for Serum 2 can be the vast amount of available presets for Serum 1.
And its sophisticated wavetable editor, for anyone who really wants to deep-dive.
I don't own it yet and I'm somewhat torn between U-he Hive 2 and Serum 2, after listening to a few Hive preset packs on the U-he site. I just love Hive's sound.
Yes that's true, there's a lot more 3rd party preset packs for Serum than for Pigments (though of course there are about a million 1st party presets for Pigments)
Wait for SynthMaster 3 on iPad
Synthmaster 3 is no slouch, it’s in my top 15 synth plug ins!
It is probably gonna be in my top 5 or higher on iOS!
This talk about super synth on the iOS platform just reminded me how Apple still didn’t port Alchemy. What a freaking disappointment. 😠
The kv331 team are my heroes! 🤩
It's inside Logic .. Don't think they will ever release it as standalone plugin ..
Yes, FYI, there is Logic Pro for iOS, but with only the Alchemy player. I never expected Alchemy outside of Logic Pro anyway. 😌
SynthMaster 3 will come to iOS with all desktop features: Wavetable Editor, Multisample Editor, and Drum Sequence Editor. (those editing functions will be a separate $9.99 IAP purchase though -if you don't have the desktop version. For desktop users they will be able to unlock ALL features for $9.99)
That makes sense as I just read that there is no actual AU for Mac users, the Serum 2 plugin for Mac is just a VST using a wrapper. That's pretty sketchy. So Serum 2 is not ever going to be an iOS plugin. I'm not a fan of the sound of Serum 1 so I'm not sad about it.
Kool, coming from the guy who bought all the packs on iOS, and didn’t get them on computer…smh never would work, I bought it backwards and now if I want em on desktop I gotta buy them again….at least I learned the order to buy you guys’ stuff now.
Yea after some time with serum2, its crazy, just the sheer amount of sound design capabilities here are facemelting. If you dont think this synth is powerful asf you must loaded a few presets and moved on…
I said what i said…
Its my number 1 synth now, alchemy pro on the mac is number 2….
Cant believe something dethroned alchemy for me
