Seeking no frills sequencer
Is to possible to host a sequencer in Loopy?
This is to tide me over until Loopy can do midi.
My intention will only be using it to playback midi with Auv3 synths I own, live in time with a drummer.
My preference is to use the sequencer hosted in Loopy.
If necessary AUM could be the host for those particular songs (don't currently own it).
I will need to tap tempo mid song to align with the drummer as we progress thru the song.
The sequences will only be popping up here and there to spice up a particular section in any given song. Not running a sequence from start to finish.
So no need to spend any significant $ for bells and whistles.

Sorry, I don't know how this thread got overlooked for so long.
Sure, you can use any AUv3 midi app in Loopy Pro. What kind of sequencer are you looking for? There are sequencers of every kind available.
Pretty much covered everything above.
My main question would be is changing tempo mid song possible in Loopy using a sequencer being hosted in Loopy, will everything sync?
Loopy has an adjust tempo action which you can trigger via a midi binding. You could also set up a dummy clip that has an adjust tempo action as a part of a follow action. Loopy can also use ableton link or slave to midi clock. So, there are a few ways to go.
You could also set up a dummy clip that has an adjust tempo action as a part of a follow action.
Can you give me a scenario to understand the application?
I don't think follow actions apply here because the master tempo is coming from a live drummer.
So if I get Helium and host it in Loopy, I can have a sequence ready to go, tap tempo the song while the song is not running, and trigger to play the sequence?
@slinky, Loopy has tap tempo. You could set up a button on-screen to tap in the tempo.
Depending on what you need to do, you might also need buttons to nudge the tempo up or down a tiny bit. It's one thing to have the tempo matched, and another to get the beats to line up with the drummer's.
You haven't mentioned if the tempo changes are happening mid song or not. That makes a difference in how easy it is to align the clock with the drummer's playing.
In my first post I mentioned it’s happening mid song. Thx
What is the parameter to nudge tempo?
The action is “adjust tempo”. Adjust actions have an option to nudge.
Great thx
