Drambo no longer recognises my interfaces?

Haven’t used it standalone for a long time.

I only get the Ext Audio 1 option for audio input?

I was previously using it with Modular and a DC coupled interface.

  • iOS doesn't support more than one audio interface, if that's what you mean.

I mean it doesn’t recognise my single Motu 8A.

Tried it with some other ones too. I used to just set it in the Audio in and out 1, 2, 3 options for the track but haven’t been able to choose anything but Ext Audio In/Out as if the interface doesn’t exist.

  • If interface is on.

Closing then opening Drambo should show a white volume slider.

This means interface is on in Drambo.

    Does any host see it?

Yep it’s fine anywhere else, only an issue with Drambo.

  • @BroCoast just in case: is this for existing projects? If I open one that has an Audio Input module without the original interface plugged in then I only get "Default" and "Ext. In 1". If I plug the interface then the existing Audio Input module is not updated, I only get the refreshed list by adding a new Audio Input module.

  • Heh, tried updating my iPad to see if it would fix it. 40gb of wasted mobile data later and it still can’t install the update.

I hate Apple. Removing all their products from my life.

Aargh. But I hear you. Got more than twice the size of the iOS update in free storage on my iPhone but it always fails somewhere later in the process. I gave up. Apple gear definitely worked better in the past.

Just FYI, performing an OTA update on iOS requires three large blocks of storage. First is the area to download the update. Then there are two temporary partitions as large as the existing iOS partition. The first partition is used to merge the new files from the download with existing files from the current system (this is the "preparing update" step). The system then boots to a stand-alone program (black screen) that builds the new system image in the second partition. It then reboots again and copies the new system into the iOS partition. Finally, it erases all this temporary data. It has worked like this at least since iOS 7. The problem is likely worsened by the steady growth in size of iOS.

If you don't have the space, you could connect the phone to your computer and update that way. This is built-in on a Mac, but needs iTunes on a Windows PC. I believe that won't require any temporary space on the phone.

  • Thanks @uncledave, I need to try that!
