Can Synthmaster 2 create MIDI output from its ARP?

SM2 has quite a powerful arpeggiator … would be great if it was available to output to other synths. Does anyone know if it is able to do this?

It doesn't appear as a MIDI source in AUM.

Since it doesn't appear as a MIDI source, it indicates that it does not send MIDI out.

To be more precise, doesn’t this indicate that it isn’t sending MIDI out (in my routing setup), not necessarily that it doesn’t?

There may be a setting somewhere to enable it, as MIDI output can sometimes be activated/deactivated.

I’ve barely used SM2 so I’m hoping for an experienced user, who’s already looked into it, to shed light on this.

Not as an AU. If an AU can ~possibly~ function as a MIDI source, it will ALWAYS appear in the list of apps available as a MIDI generator or processor. That flag can’t be toggled. It’s either on, or it’s off. It ircan possibly send MIDI, it would always appear as a MIDI source in AUM for example, but if MIDI was toggled off, it simply wouldn’t work, but it would still appear as a source.

  • Ah thanks, that makes sense now!
