  • One thing I really like about Lumbeat is the app license you buy for iOS also transfers over to Mac.

  • Reggae Drummer is a fucking beast as it is, AUv3 will make it even greater

I’ve never made reggae music before. Maybe I should try

  • Also, imagine sequencing Battalion with Lumbeat’s apps

  • this is very cool!

I just got a Mac, would love to use my Lumbeat apps - how does it work? I guess you open a Lumbeat app independently of your DAW and send MIDI in somehow?

I also would like to know how this works. I don’t see any Lumbeat drummers that I own show up in the Mac App Store to download like I do with solderbox, and model d, etc

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

  • Sorry if the answer is evident, but I remember having read somewhere that Reggae Drummer is quite versatile. Would it be useful for other genres as well?

They'll be in the iPhone/iPad Apps tab...download them to Mac and they open as stand-alone apps.

Not sure how they can integrate with a DAW, I'll have some time this weekend to tinker

Lumbeat is seriously good stuff. This update sounds amazing - can't wait to see it.

*Edit: Lumbeat has some interesting info on the various styles and the background of them on their website. Here's a link to the Reggae Drummer section. I learned a few things.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the following for most genres (roughly in order from most to least recommended):

    • Funk Drummer
    • Hip Hop Drummer
    • Soft Drummer
    • Reggae Drummer
    • Jazz Drummer

Future Drummer and Rock Drum Machine aren’t as versatile. Most beats you would want to pull from those can easily be covered by the above listed.

Afro Latin, Mid East, and Indian drummers are a lot more niche - you’ll know if you want/need those in your Lumbeat suite.

The only one I would avoid is Brazilian Drum Machine. There doesn’t seem to be a way to get BDM to communicate with the other drummers.

When Reggae Drummer gets AUv3 support that would make it the go to. I’d personally prefer Hip-Hop or Funk Drummer to get AUv3 support first. IMO Funk is the most diverse with good drummer expansions and the most sound packs to unlock. Hip-Hop is the most feature rich and fills a lot of gaps where Funk Drummer is lacking.

  • I'm a lot into dubby music, so theres that already, but I was curious about the versatility. Will definitely try it then! Thanks for taking the time :)

  • Soft Drummer as an AUV3 would complete me.

    Reggae I’ll definitely take!

  • Reggae drummer was always my favourite
    Bring on av3
    Sweet

Frankly, I'm amazed Apple has still not included a reggae Session Drummer in GarageBand or Logic Pro after all these years. Same goes for a jazz drummer!

  • 😞 whys it so expensive?

Brilliant!! Reggae and Soft are my two go to's in the Lumbeat stable!

And it's not April 1 yet, so maybe there's a bit of truth in the OP??

    Because it's worth it.

If we want really nice toys, the toy makers need to make a living so they're not limited to just doing this as a hobby.

There is no tab for iPhone/iPad apps in my Mac App store. I'm still on Sonoma on an Intel Mac, maybe this is why. I did find Mollilooper and GlitchStep available for Mac which I was not aware of.

The comment about Mac compatibility only applies to the newer Apple Silicon based Macs.
People forget there are still dinosaurs like us out there. 😂

+1. I'm really looking forward to the incoming AUv3 releases, and my wallet is ready to bleed for all the drummers I don't have yet.

In the app store click on your name in the bottom left corner, then click on the iPhone/iPad Apps tab. I only have Afrolatin and Mid East Drummer and they're both in there. I don't know about the others.

  • Wait, what?!?!? April 1 is still a few days away. 🙃

Future Drummer recently had an update.. and is very versatile.. one of the top drummers.

What does Mr Lumbeat mean by ‘other things are to be presented’ (Facebook)?
It has got to be for iBassist.. it is so central to the drummers..

    Looking forward..

  • Patiently waiting!

  • Awesome news!

  • If @LuisMartinez has cracked the code on making an AUv3 from one of this existing apps then I expect the others will roll out in a sequence that suits anticipated sales.

How many LUMBeats Apps do I own? 15. I will gladly re-purchase most of them for the added convinience of AUv3 support assuming app stability or timely response to repair. So, I hope to own ~30 apps in a couple years.

iBassist, by the way, is already an AUv3 app. Updated about a year ago. iBassist linked with a Lumbeats drummer is like a
much hipper Band in a Box.

I believe it is. Funk Drummer was always my go to but Reggae Drummer can get you there no problem.
Especially now being able to use more than one instance really opens things up.
