How are you getting on with LAYERS by 4Pockets?
Hi all,
Over two years ago I purchased Midi Layers by 4Pockets and gradually over the following months I discovered how important this app is if you want to play multiple keyboard parts but only have one Midi keyboard, Layers solves this problem so easily and I can’t imagine ever using Cubasis 3 without it when more than one synth app is to used for lead lines.
I’m curious as to why no one has mentioned it here on this forum?

It’s been mentioned for sure
Hi Gavinski,
Thanks for this info, what I should have also asked is - is any one using it and have they found it useful ? I have spoken to some people and they don’t know about Layers and what it is capable of
🍻
I use MIDILayers with AUM routinely for my live setup. I use whatever keyboard the rehearsal studio has so using the iPad as sound source gives me consistency.
I have the bottom octave of the keyboard set as voice selection keyswitches. I’m simultaneously using forScore for the setlist and notation so my only interaction with MIDILayers is through the MIDI keyboard.
When I changed from using separate apps to using some Pianoteq presets, it was straightforward to setup Program Change messages in place of port selection.
While there are other apps that offer more functionality, MIDILayers gives me all I need and has proved very reliable.
Hi Andy,
It’s good to know someone else who uses Layers, I don’t use the keyboard for manual track changes in Cubasis 3, I set a very low key range in Layers and use pre set Midi note events to mute/select/change multiple Midi lanes as I am playing, I don’t want to rely on my memory for accurate track changing, some tracks change right after the last note, the last thing I want is a distraction or just forgetting when I should be operating the lower key switches, besides, I only use a 5 octave keyboard and I need all those for actual playing.
