To a certain extent you can do a similar thing with the free Gatelab from Audiomodern, but then this has filter options which takes the fx further.
Hmm ... I had grabbed a free tremelo effect recently to apply to vocals for a type of gated effect, but this seems a versatile alternative that could be used for a similar effect while also being useful for chopped and filtered sweeps and things.
I can't quite tell from the description on the page - can cutoff and resonance (and other FX) be set per step? If it can, I think I might find this a better alternative to Sugar Bytes WOW2, which I've used a lot in the past in PC.
I think the filter is overall instead of per step. I don’t own this one, maybe Doug or others can confirm.
@EnergyCrush The filter cutoff, resonance, can’t be set per step, but the random does a good job at imitating this.
Thanks - I guess that is interesting, but having that repeated control would be the killer. Will have to give some thought - I think there are a few tools like this, but I haven't dug into them at all yet.
I suppose it's possible a set of random events while recording the loops could lead to something cool, but I also imagine how frustrated I would be to get 15 steps of the best amazing from patiently waiting on the randomization, and then a close but off 16. Lol, not sure I want to incorporate that in my workflow without a way to freeze good parts and/or modify unwanted ones.
