Fundamentalism as a Political Strategy

Modi leverges Hinduism
Netanyahu levelerages Zionism
Putin leverages the Russian Orthodox Church
The Islamic State (ISIS) is a pan-national movement

and now MAGA is a “Big Tent” for Christian Dominionism, pro-Israel Zionism, Christian White Power and “America First” facism.

True Believers all that are difficult if not impossible to influence with facts or logic.

Fundamentalists are free to make their case here.

Personally, I find a few commenters here to be implacable Fundamentalists to one mindset through most true believers don’t engage and stay true to their beliefs without a need to try and
evangelize to add new members.

  • Yes anything can be leveraged doesn’t have to be a religious belief, it could be an ideal, I scientific dogma all have been used to maintain power of the few over the many.

    This statement assumes quite a lot, it assumes you know what ‘fundamentalism’ is and also have knowledge as to true believers that don’t express their beliefs or try to convert someone to their way of thinking.

    Statements have sources. I am not convinced. Carry on. A closed mind never admits to being one.

    Seeking common ground: who writes better about the underclass than George Orwell?

  • Using Gemini to answer the question: “What did George Orwell write”
    George Orwell was a prolific English novelist, essayist, journalist, and critic. He is best known for his:
    * Animal Farm (1945): A satirical allegorical novella.
    * Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949): A dystopian novel.
    However, he also wrote many other significant works, including:
    * Down and Out in Paris and London (1933)
    * The Road to Wigan Pier (1937)
    * Homage to Catalonia (1938)
    * Burmese Days.
    His writings often reflected his strong political and social views, and his works remain highly influential today.

  • Something I have come to understand: fundamentalism = idolatry.

  • The fundamentalists I have enountered that alarmed me would do things like pray for God to punish sinners.
    The belief system was a tool for righteous anger and justified hate.

    As many political leaders build their followings I can sometimes see this enabling of justified hate as a lever to gain
    control and exert power. It’s text book totalitarianism. But nothing like antidishragtranscendentalassitantism. (Say it out loud).
