"Classic guitar tone in a box, upgraded with powerful modern plugin features"

Rockdude X1000, modeled after the legendary Rockman X100*, delivering iconic 80s guitar tones enhanced with advanced features like stomp effects, flexible cabinet emulation, and studio-quality post-processing.

Defined the signature sound of countless classic rock recordings, prominently featured on iconic albums by bands like Boston, Def Leppard, and ZZ Top, and widely used in legendary 1980s studio sessions.

I agree, but (always a but), I despise the new menu system where you have to dive deep down just to change preset and not even a next/previous button. That's real backwards development.
Now, back to playing. It does sound real nice.

  • Is this best at clean or high gain sounds - im looking for 80s clean chorus type tones?

I think this is emulating the Boston tone

  • Ah the Boston tone - i had more than a feeling it might be for that tone :)
    Thank you Eros.

Indeed a little bit annoying having to navigate through the deep dive menu repeatedly just to browse through the presets. The prev/next buttons as in the older apps are much more intuitive and easier to use.

I also notice that the background (bitmap) image of the pre-amplifier is bit low-res looking on my iPad. Especially noticable with the choppy/blurry looking text and sliders. Everything else in the app looking sharp.

Just some minor UI stuff, but otherwise a great sounding new addition to the Nembrini line-up 👍👍

I think you’re right. In the 80’s our lead singer/rhythm player used a Rockman. Sounded good but was specific to that tone.

I wonder if misunderstood criticism might be the culprit as they, strangely, used plus and minus instead of arrows like everyone else. It took me a while to understand they were for next or previous, that's no reference though as I am, pretty stupid sometimes.

Edit: I did write to them just now, letting them at least know our thoughts.

  • Reply from Nembrini:
"Thank you so much for your message and for taking the time to share your feedback, we really appreciate it!

You're absolutely right: having to click multiple times to browse presets can disrupt the workflow, and we understand how that might be frustrating. We’ll definitely take your input into consideration as we work on future improvements to make preset browsing more immediate and user-friendly.

Regarding the previous/next buttons, we hear you. The change from “+” and “–” to arrows like “<” and “>” does make a lot of sense visually and functionally, especially since it’s a more familiar standard. I’ll make sure this is passed along to the design team.

And thank you for the kind words about the sound, that really means a lot to us!

If there’s anything else you’d like to see improved or changed, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your feedback helps us make the experience better for everyone.

    Best regards,
    Simone"

They did misunderstand the plus minus thing as I didn't mean to change the old ones but to implement arrows on the new. Never mind, it's a fairly good reply if it's a human.

  • @Pxlhg I sent them a message as well about the preset navigation buttons including this screenshot from their website.. weird that they have them on here but not on the release.. the last amp, Jazz Chorus, had the same issues..

Let’s hope they realize their mistake and repair it pronto..

I do love the sound of this one.. I still have a Rockman kicking around here somewhere.. working condition? Not sure about that.. used the hell out of it on stage for a good year or so.. a very particular sound but it cut through amazingly well for a lot the material we were playing back then..

Surprisingly, it does some great clean and chorused clean tones too.

  • Is this a standalone app? It doesn’t look like I can add it to a Cubasis project as an auv3 plugin?

AUv3 yes. Are you looking for it in effects? If it doesn't appear there, maybe a reinstall and/or restart will fix it and it will finally appear, as it should.

  • @cyberheater - if it's not in the list of insert FX, opening it standalone once might be needed for it to completely install. I've seen that with other plugins.

  • Demo coming,but i must admit i don’t like the Rockman sound.
That being said,Nembrin did a great job at emulating it😉.

Thanks Gavinski and Wim. I can see it now.

I didn't comment because I though I would have been alone to say I've never liked the Rockman sound.
We, at the studio, in the 90's, just stopped using it the day the Sansamp arrived.

The Sansamp sounded much better to my ears😉.
