So, I made a cover with my friend Anja on main vocals (I did the backing vocals), showed it to Sash! frontman Sascha, and he said it "sounds a bit weird". As much as I produce top-quality tracks, I'm not above crapping out a lackluster turd once in a while.

So, my question to you all is, what is weird about it? What can be improved? :)

(And I know I autotuned the vocals. It's more of a signature sound rather than a corrective measure. I grew up with Cher, Eiffel 65, and T-Pain, so that's where I get the inspo for that electronic vocal effect.)

    just my five cents ..

    I would say vocal is too loud and the short reverb/room on it is what it makes it “weird”

    • put volume down
    • add longer reverb, maybe a tiny bit of delay at the end of some phrases

    this may help to glue it with music.. I think all “weirdness” comes from fact that vocal is not glued with music .. sounds too loud and too dry.

    Now that you point it out, you're spot on mate! Yeah, vocal processing is not my strongsuit. 😅 My strongsuit is instrumentals. But Anja wanted to cover the song, so I figured I'd try to modernise it a little.
