Adding bindings to a global profile via midi learn

I'm trying to add bindings to a global profile via midi learn.

I thought that if I press the "projects" dropdown in the upper left corner, after selecting 'midi learn', then deselect checkboxes next to all profiles but the one I want to add bindings to via midi learn, then when I do the midi learn process those bindings would be added only to the checked profile.

Doesn't seem to be working this way, rather the bindings are still being added to the default local project.

I've tried finding more info on the forums and elsewhere online and looked in the manual, but still need guidance

    Choose profile you want to save into from the dropdown. The checkboxes enable/disable profiles. The profile selected determines where the binding goes.

    Ah, ok.
    So for those following along, I believe this is the case:

    • the checkboxes that are selected/deselected in that pull down determine which profiles are active in this project
    • In order to select which profile you want to save your bindings to when you do 'midi learn', you have to first press on the name of that profile from within the dropdown menu to select it, so that the name of the selected profile shows as the label of this dropdown menu...then do your 'midi learn'
