Live Band Trio In a Boiler Room – Raw House Music on Video

First time contributing to this category!
I use Loopy Pro as the main host, Korg gadgets instruments, Drambo, Turnado. The mix is made on Logic Pro on desktop.
The video was taken during a live gig last December. I actually have the footage of the entire performance and I hope to have time to edit it one day lol.
Song title : Papeete

  • Supé Kewl…

That was tight. Nicely arranged. How long did you guys rehearse for that?

Great stuff! You should be proud of that performance 👌🏼

Yeahh thank you ! For this gig I think 4 sessions of 5-6 hours, and 2 days for me to program the lighting of the place, synced by midi from the loopy session lol.

Our first gig was almost a year ago, so we had the time to practice...

Normally we only make 2 breaks during the live, almost like a dj set, but for the sake of the video we adapted this song with a beginning & end.

Thanks @LeeB, it means a lot

  • Great performance! It's amazing that you guys can do that live, really tight! Looks like a fun night out. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very cool! The parts complement well each other!

  • Awesome performance!

  • Wow! Super impressive and fun to watch and hear. The length was good for me, I will not sit through an hour or two (being honest, not disrespectful, I hope) as at 63 it's not really my scene. 😊😃

  • Rocking room. The playing was fantastic and the visuals were right up there as well.
    I bet that was a fun night.🌟.

  • Most unusual to see music like this performed by a live band! Typically it’s just one guy with a bunch of gear spread out on a table. The production was outstanding. Lots of different views with the music and video synced up perfectly. I can tell you really put some time into creating this. Very well done!

  • That a very cool introduction to the Creation section.

Nice to see musician playing this style live.

Sure thing. All them rehearsal hours definitely paid off. When it works, I love seeing production based music pulled off live. It’s like it’s come back full circle. And you guys definitely made it work.

  • I showed my mates this post and they're very thankful reading all your responses. 🙏

Thanks to your recent post regarding the creation section I realized I wasn't even following it, my bad... but there are a lot of gems in there. I gotta catch up!

Perfectly understandable ahah :D , we tend to start funky and go crescendo in the live set, but always with a four to the floor, so not for everyone indeed!

At the premise of the band I was using Modstep sequencing an Electribe 2, not the easiest to sync everyone up lol. But yeah, without the video crew, the lights, etc... it wouldn't have been the same. And indeed, a looot of time was spent editing the multicam in premiere.

  • Impressive playing, great vibes… top notch first post 👌
Here’s hoping for many more !

  • Brilliant track, performance, video. Really professional job all round. I’d like it even more if I wasn’t so jealous! Loved it

  • @GeoTony Glad you liked it and thank you for the comment on youtube, you get the reward of the 1st one in english :D

@MistaG 😂 no reason to be jealous, and thank you for the kind words!!

A bit late to the party, but I'm Glad I didn't miss this post. What an incredibly tight playing guys, it's great. Thanks for sharing and I hope you'll find the time to share more of the set.

PS: Tu es français ? Le Mamagayo est à Toulouse, non?

  • One of the best things I’ve seen in a long time! Thank you!!

  • @JanKun @MatthewKay
wow thanks for the compliments !
Yep je suis français :) The Mamagayo is indeed at Toulouse, you know this place ? Normally the basement is only for DJs but they made an exception for us

Et tu dis yep ? Mais pourquoi tu dis yep? Tu connais Georges Abitbol ?
I heard about the Mamagayo but never been there (I am from Brittany but left France a long while ago). Nice they let you play! Please upload more of the set, it's brilliant!

  • It’s a band! It’s good to know Loopy Pro fits this approach to music making for a group experience.

  • I remember this one with the name of the topic: (Yuseef Kamaal Trio 1st presentation)

  • Good stuff, compliments!
