There is not a way to prevent follow actions from firing other than by removing them . If you have stop follow actions, they will execute whenever clips stop. You can set up follow actions to trigger stepped dials or radio button groups if you sometimes want the follow actions to not do anything.
OK, I see.
I'm using the "stop-follow-action" to start a new scene (like in Ableton Live) as soon as a loop (one-shot) has finished playing. I know I could also use a button's "ramp" for this, but that’s limited to 16 bars.
I’m simply linking scenes together this way (Intro, Verse, Chorus).
However, if I want to stop the song in the middle (using "stop all clips"), all the following scenes still get triggered one after another.
Would just stopping the transport instead work?
As I mentioned, you could set up your follow actions to be conditional by using dials or radio buttons BUT I’d recommend not using follow actions and instead use either widgets to sequence the playback or the timeline (sequencer).
This wiki article describes some ways you can sequence clip playback with actions. Such sequences can be canceled with the cancel pending actions action.

Yes, I’ve done that, but the newly activated scene stays active. I tried using a cascade of stops:
stop transport, then stop all clips, then start transport again —
but that doesn’t work either.
The background behind all these attempts:
Example 1.
During rehearsal, I want to interrupt the scene sequence and immediately repeat the verse — without stopping all the other apps (e.g. drum loops) that are connected via Ableton Link.
Example 2.
In one song, I play scenes Verse1 + Verse2 + Chorus, linked with follow actions. But after Verse3, there’s no Verse4 — instead, it jumps to a solo part of undefined length (not a one-shot, but a loop).
So I trigger the Solo Scene at the end of Verse3, but then things get messy because two scenes are playing at the same time.
If I could just extend the trigger button for "Solo Part" with a "cancel all follow actions", that would be smart.
:-)
Your end goal is to-able but you probably have to approach it differently than you have.
See questions in line
Done what?
What do you mean by “stays active”?
Doesn’t work in what way?
What happens?
What do you mean by scene? Are you using groups or do you have a button that plays/solos particular clips ?
Without seeing the details of how you have this set up, it is hard to advise.
That was the answer of your earlier question: Would just stopping the transport instead work?
The donats are still glowing (activated) but not playing (because of stopped transport). When I start the transport again, they continue playing
The (re)start is not executed
Yes: a button that plays/solos particular clips
I really understand that, I would feel the same way
It's not a big deal. I initially just wanted to ask this question if I can cancel all followactions. I can solve the problem with rehearsals by ending the next started scene after after 4 beats with stop-all.
@Stefanoni : when a clip is “glowing” that means it is still playing/play-enabled. Stopping the transport doesn’t change the play state. You need to have a stop clip action to turn off the play state.
When you say a “restart is not executed”, can you say more about what you mean?
My end goal ist to play songs live with a lot of freedom for repeats and solos and lengths, as i did it for years with ableton live. I switched to loopy pro one year ago. It sounds like this ( nobody don't even notice that I start all parts manually on the iPad, or sometimes link some passages)
Great music!
What you want to achieve is easily do-able. Follow actions are generally not advisable for a situation like this.
I am happy to help you work through how to accomplish what you want. My recommendation is to take it one step at a time rather than solve everything at once.
If you have not explored using mutually exclusive play groups for song sections, they are often preferable to using buttons that trigger a collection of individual clips.
There are lots of ways to set up scene triggering that mix automation and manual triggering. What works best will depend on workflow details.

my answer and a question:
So far, I start a group of clips with a button (1).
The yellow clip has a defined length and is played on-shot.
The yellow clip triggers the next button (2) when it stops at the end.
This button starts all clips of the second scene
(I forgot to erase the red labels "start1 and 2" on the second and third printscreen. Please ignore it because it has nothing to do with my questions)
Then Again, the scene 2 has the yellow clip with the full length of the "Vers2", also one-shot
The yellow clip triggers the next button when it stops (3)
My question:
why yo mean "Follow actions are generally not advisable for a situation like this" ?
what could be the better way ?
@Stefanoni : for sequencing clips, follow actions have the drawback that (unless you set-up widgets to give you conditional behavior) that they always fire which makes them inflexible.
It is generally much better to set up widgets which when triggered, perform the series of actions you want to perform.
Up-thread, I posted a link to a wiki article that gives tips about how to use actions to sequence playback.
You can set up a widget that when triggered,
@Stefanoni : in addition to the wiki page, you might want to check out some examples I posted on our discord. They should give you some ideas.

@Stefanoni : I've posted a simple demonstration of using a stepped dial to do sequences. It has one dial that automatically plays through a song and another that steps through song parts. You could use hybrid setups that play part of a song automatically and then waits at a looping section till you trigger to proceed. There are so many possibilities.
