    My '92 Music Man had 11 pickup positions (HB, SC, SC, HB), and a whammy that never altered tuning. The range of tones was phenomenal. It was expensive but undeniable quality. The neck radius was huge, nearly a semi-circle. Everything you are saying rings true for my Music Man experience.
