A variation on some sort of traditional folk violin piece…

Comments

  • Brooding atmospheric intro sets the mood. The virtuoso violin is impressive and (moving away from our little iOS community) would fool 99% of the listening public that it is a real one. Like most I have heard from you Tony, I suspect that this one was done quickly, maybe even one take, which makes it even more impressive. A beautiful piece 👏

  • Ha , I do like the idea of an arthritic virtuoso @BillS although I think I’m more the former than the latter 🤔
Like a few of my tracks the idea / basics sit there for a month or two maturing before being set free.
I had pan pipes and bass clarinet on this until the last minute and then decided they weren’t needed or more likely I couldn’t be bothered.
A couple of quick test runs and then this was the first attempt at a recording. I nearly always do things in one pass, never midi edit. If I get it wrong I just have another go… it’s all good practice 😊
Many thanks for the kind words 👍

Quite a lovely, atmospheric piece of Celtic music so far. ❤️ Hard to believe this was one unedited take, but bravo sir. 👏

  • Cheers Jim ( @jwmmakerofmusic )… I’m sure you do this sort of thing all the time when you’re playing live…

Usually yes, lol. But only on one keyboard with the piano sound, lol. 😂

  • Great stuff, sort of happy (in parts) and melancholy at the same time, liked the gentle bodhran sound in the background, was that a real one?

  • Beautiful textures and excellent use of phrasing like I’d imagine a bowed instrument would play upon that backscape.

  • Superb geoshredding! (is it Geoshred, right? :# )
I also love the increasing reverb in the middle of the tracks, adds so much the the atmosphere.
