  • I really love the original version of this song and I have to admit, this had me smiling. Definitely like the melody sound best.

I downloaded the midi file (thanks for sharing that by the way!) and when I have a little more time I really want to try it with some other sounds just to hear the possibilities 😄!

  • Again,I imported the MIDI stems into several Staffpad pages and then used cut and paste to move the parts into a single Staffpad Project and assigned suitable instruments and articulations to render a string quintet + upright bass who normally is excluded from those gigs… but we’re all about the bass here on McD’s Ol’ Folks Farm.

    That came out great 👍

What articulations I’d you end up adding?

Just Pizzicato (finger plucking) for the bass, cello, viola. The melodic leads (violin and cello soloists) are just playing the notes as notated by the MIDI file… the default is to connect notes in a legato or singing style.

StaffPad requires an Apple pencil but for these projects I am doing everything without using the pencil since
I don’t need to draw the notes you entered in the MIDI Piano Roll.

  • You’re doing a great job @alexy making the midi files available and your orchestration is just lovely @McD … what a combination 👌
