Warning: LaunchPad sucking up battery even when not used

I've just discovered (through iOS 8's battery monitor) that the LaunchPad app suffers from the same problem as I described here http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/5744/audiocopy-sucking-up-battery/p1

Even when it's not in the foreground, and even when it's been several days since it's been opened, it will suck up most of your power. Probably because of it's news section like with AudioCopy.

The only way to stop it is to manually kill the app.

Just a heads up if you are experiencing bad battery life.
