Hi everyone ! And advice please ?

Hey everyone , I’m Matt and I’ve been using loopy pro on and off for a couple of years now . I just acquired a launchpad mini mk2 and I’m looking for a template for loopy pro - are there any ? I just found out that components software doesn’t support the mk2 mini , and I’d really like to setup an 8x8 grid along with volume faders - or even a 4x8 vertical grid to trigger clips with 4 faders on the same page to adjust volume . Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?

Many thanks !

Matt

You can set up midi bindings for it as with any generic midi controller—midi learn is probably the simplest way . Loopy does not have the same special support for the mini mk 2 as it does for the mk3

  • Thanks for that ! I can midi learn the boards to toggle clips but I can’t figure out how to setup volume / fx sliders . Is that possible ?

Do you have those set up on your Launchpad? Basically, you need to set those up on your launchpad and when they are visible, you should be able to MIDI learn them as you did with pads. You need to set them up as Custom on the Launchpad. Loopy doesn't set up session mode faders -- though if you are a MIDI expert, you could use something like the Mozaic MIDI scripting app to set it up.

  • I haven’t got sliders set up on the launchpad as I can’t use novation components with the mk2 mini . Not sure how to do custom mappings without it !

How were you hoping to control a fader from the Launchpad?

  • I’ve seen vertical pad combos used as sliders and I’m wondering if that’s possible with the mk2 mini . I’m sorry if these are novice questions !

I think you will need to ask Novation about that -- you may want to create a thread here asking how to create a fader on a Launchpad Mini Mk2. If you put the info in your thread title, you might attract the attention of someone that knows how to do it.

You can create sliders with Novation Components in LaunchPad custom modes (https://components.novationmusic.com/). Once you set the sliders in the custom mode you can then do the midi mapping to LoopyPro. I don't have a mini but this works with LaunchPad Pro MK3.

Components doesn't work with the MK2.

Sadly novation components isnt compatible with the mk2 mini so I’m looking for other ways to create a slider
