Boss RC-600 with iPad/AUM Audio question.

Hi all,
I'm getting into guitar looping and currently using Koala/Gauss in AUM but I'm thinking of getting a hardware solution to make life easier. I've been looking at the Boss RC-600 as it seems the best way to keep your hands on the guitar and I'm intrigued by the fact it can act as an eight-channel audio interface on PC/Mac but I cannot find out if this would be the case on iPad. I know you have to install drivers for desktop to get this functionality so I'm guessing it'll just be a single in/out for iOS? Any owners on here that can confirm? Having 8 separate inputs in AUM sounds dreamy!
Thanks!

My impression is that under iOS it is 2-in/2-out but I am not 100% certain of that.
