[Public Beta] Nikaya Synth - Polyphonic Wavetable & FM Synthesizer
Hi all, it's wild that I'm working on this new synth and it's super amazing even I can't believe it how I made it lol 
- It's an 8-voice polyphonic wavetable synth with dual wavetable oscillators
- and 2 FM oscillators (OSC 1 -> 2 & OSC 2 -> 1)
- with their own envelope generator per-voice.
- An analog modeled ladder filter with resonance,
- And a rise & fall filter envelope that has cycling, tempo syncing and retriggering options.
- ADSR amplitude envelope generator with full graph. (0.1 ms to 5seconds range)
- Two LFOs for modulating the waveforms of the wavetable OSCs
- With sin, tri, saw, r-saw and random (sample and hold) shapes & tempo sync and retriggering options
- Import your own wavetables through iCloud
- OR Pull up your photo gallery and convert your pictures to wavetables
- Upload your presets to the community preset pool
- Or download and use the community presets
- Lightweight and well optimized, ready for the AUv3 world.

The community presets feature is need to be tested, so please make sure uploading a few presets

Has anyone ever done an FM synth where the FM operators are each themselves scanning-wavetable oscillators

Tested it in drambo. Sent some TestFlight screenshots.
Couldn’t get the presets to save. Restarted everything including the iPad and that didn’t help.
Sounds nice for what I’veI tried out so far. Fun to get a useable sound out of it quick. Enjoy the color scheme as well!
I enjoy this trend of wavetables in the UI. It’s really nice to look at.
Oh! Couldn’t get pics to load any sounds either. I’m sure you’ll sort it out.

partially drambo - Wavetable oscillator pitch van be modulates with other wavetable oscillator output but just in gange +/-24 so it’s not full blown FM modulation
Tested S.A. saving a preset, then loading it as an AuV3 playing around with the same preset. No issues so far.
It does sound a little bit thin (and canny maybe) but I like the fact that you have no FX on board, it makes it more honest somehow.

but i can't load the auv3. did a restart. tested in aum. ipad 6th gen ipados 16.7.2
Good stuff, @cem_olcay. Would it be possible to have arrows at the top of the screen to switch between presets easily?

Love the color scheme as well, and I’m a fan of how simple it is, and how quick one can get usable sounds out of it quickly as mentioned by others.
Also a big fan of the wavetable display with the XY support.
Will try creating user presets and sharing.
Very nice synth!! Beautiful UI, really good job.
Some requests: A global volume setting would be nice, as well as arrows for the different wavetables.
Looks cool! I think synths like this should have 3 oscillators nowadays. It would also be cool to have ring modulation and see a filter mode modelled on the IR3109 or SSM2040 OTA filter.

So I’m assuming the LFOs are “hardwired” to the OSC’s wave knobs, purple to purple, and orange to orange. I don’t see any ways to change this. And the Filter and Envelope are global (though Orange)? @cem_olcay

I meant 3 wavetable oscillators, but wavetable plus FM is still cool. I still think the OTA filter needs more representation. Ladder is overdone.

Having it Orange might have some users thinking it’s associated with only the Orange oscillator like the Orange LFO is.

Rad synth! Cool to see cem branching out from midi. Mentions that you wanna test the community presets functions, but I’m not seeing a way to add or send community stuff. Did I miss something? Or is it a process to be done separate from the app. (The whole community preset idea is neat, btw!)
This thing is awesome, it’s easy to use, has some great features, and sounds really great. I love how clean it is, with the ability to get some nice sounds.
The Image to Wavetable, with the ability to select slices, wav import, and community presets are awesome features!
Would like to see the ability to extend the detune up or down an octave each way. Maybe a button that switches it from fine tuning, centz to a semitone, to a broader range, semitones to an octave each way. I think that would broaden the sound possibilities.

First create your own preset by pressing the add button on the user presets. Then swipe the preset row and press the upload button. It will post it to the community presets.
Just home from work & ran through the presets. Some arrows to scroll thru presets rather than opening a menu to select them would be a nice addition. Will play with it more later.

Agreed. A couple arrows would help scan through patches faster.
I've tried to load various photos as wavetables in AUv3 but got the same error everytime that it can't save the wavetable. Hope it helps!
Thanks, is the problem on generating the images or saving them to icloud? You might get error if you are not using icloud when saving them.
@dendy Try modulating WT OSC phase instead. That's what most FM synths do anyway, Nikaya quite likely too 😉
