  • Explanation

This problem also exists with negative swing. Some notes affected by swing are shifted to the right instead of left.

You're applying 1/8th note swing to 16th notes. Change that to 1/16th note swing and you'll get the results you expect.

1/8th note swing is only applying swing to the 8th's notes and leaving the 16ths alone.

Yes, I understand what you mean and I tried this. But in positive swing, notes affected by swing are expected to be shifted only to the right.
I've worked with various apps that have swing, but none of them behave the way it does in Atom piano roll. Here's a screenshot from Helium with the same config, 1/16 notes with 1/8 swing.
I can still send you screenshots from other apps.
None of them will shift any notes to the left under any circumstances in positive swing.

That does look like Atom2 is using a wrong interpretation of how to apply 1/8th swing to 16th notes.

You mean something is wrong with Helium?

    No, Atom 2.
Which is bad news since it's no longer being maintained. 😐

  • Another example of LK app .

I bought this app only because of the advanced swing it had. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned in the YouTube videos or maybe no one noticed it.

I bought it yesterday with great pleasure.😢

You are perfectly justified to request a refund if it doesn't work as it should.

I once requested a refund for an app from the App Store 6 months ago, if I'm not mistaken, and they accepted it. I think doing it again would be a bit risky for AppleID because it seems that if this is repeated a few times, the account or AppleID will be blocked.
    Isn't that so?

No. They will not lock your ID for a request like that.

  • @wim thanks for help 🙏.

Definitely won't block you for that. I remember one person here who lost access to their Apple account, but I think, reading between the lines, that that person was asking for refunds but keeping the apps installed.

Unless you're doing that, you won't have any problem no matter how many times you ask for a refund. The only problem might be that they deny some of your requests. If you live in a country with good consumer protection, and if you apply for a refund within 2 weeks, selecting 'Right of Return' as the reason in the drop down list, they can't refuse you. But again, if they found you were not actually deleting those apps after refunding, they could certainly decide to block access to your account.

Back to the problem with Atom2, I never noticed that. You could maybe email the developer. I emailed him a few months ago asking whether this app would be fixed if an iOS version update broke it. No reply, so either that's just an oversight, or it's a bad sign. Let us know whether you get a reply or not if you email him, thanks.

    @Gavinski
Thank you, @Gavinski, for information on YouTube. I watched your videos before buying Atom Piano Roll 2.
I enjoy watching your videos and thank you very much for the information you have provided me.

I sent for developer an email two days ago via support link and I haven't received a reply yet. If you have another email address for this developer, please let me know.

I have sent a new email to the developer again. I hope he will respond. I have invited him to this site/topic to learn the details of this problem.

I don't know why audioveek supports its products for such a short period of time.?🤔

I believe it was what we in the US call “burn out”. Too much overwork until they couldn’t face it any more and had to step away.

I think that's likely yes, and I can sympathize

  • Me too.

  • I'm just asking for information. Is there any rule in the App Store that limits the time developers can support their products or mandates support time? Because I think the App Store should support the user in this case, not just refund the money for the product.

    No. There is not.
    Let it go bro.

  • You basically license (not own) the software as-is, with virtually no warranty at all. That’s pretty standard for software. That you can even get a refund is more than most software guarantees.

App Store End-User license agreement, section e)

NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY LICENSOR OR ITS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY. SHOULD THE LICENSED APPLICATION OR SERVICES PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS ON APPLICABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS OF A CONSUMER, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION AND LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

  • Great . 😏

  • This information is only for clarification of bugs in Atom piano roll 2 .

In the swing section, all value,s have the problems mentioned earlier, and in addition, the same problems exist in the negative swing mode.

I recently noticed a few bugs in advanced quantization section.

I am replying here so that I can keep track of this thread.

  • I think we need to accept that this app has gone to the nice farm down the road with NS2

Does NS2 also have unresolved bugs that have been left by the developer?

I don’t know, but it’s been publicly abandoned.

Is Atom Piano Roll open source codes, or can we just import our favorite styles into it ?
I want to see if we can fix the Quotations and Swing problem through code.

The style sheet (CSS) is open source. But you can only control some of the visual appearance with that. You can't fix the swing problem. I don't know what the "Quotations" problem is, so I can't say if that's fixable in CSS.

Ahh. Same answer then. Can’t be fixed.
