MidiSequencer v1.10 close to being submitted

Getting very close to submitting v1.10 now. A free update.

It contains:

1) latest AB SDK 2.1.5

2) various bug fixes (fx displays, Shift sequence L/R)

3) Options to filter notes, CC &/or FX per device

4) A reworked midi device panel

Wanted to also show you the new skip button Panel(now called skip options) - which allows you to disable individual FX slots (before it just was On or Off).
Disabling an individual fx slot in the step will effectively ignore/bypass it in the fx chain for that step - which is apply transformations in slot 1 through to 8.
The default is to apply all fx's to a step, so disabling an fx per step is a user action (i.e. press the button to make it gray - echo, remap & transpose are disabled this way in the picture).
All this adds variety!
I've also added an easy way to pick another step whilst Step Options Panel is open using < or >.

Also shown on this screen is

1) per-step %probabiliy (another way to ignore the step or always play it other than the fx with the same name),

2) per-step swing - delay the playing of this step by up to 50% of the stepTime (tempo interval in ms). I still need to add a toggle in Options Panel to make this true swing (i.e. even steps only - 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16)

3) per-step humanise. This is a % chance that it will use the other two humanisers a) humanise note - randomly alter the note up to +/- the range set. So use 1 for small variations, or larger values for wild random notes! b) humanise velocity - as notes, but on velocity.

Comments

  • So cool. This is going to seriously increase the noodle appeal. One 16 step sequence with a few steps of note humanize (stays in key, yeah?) and a few steps of velocity humanize + velocity switcher midi channel effect = quite a lot of automated variation.

  • @syrupcore - that's the intention :)

If the step is marked as chromatic it will be outside the key. The default is chromatic off so the humanise will also be scaled to the key (so slider note + humanise will be conformed). It might also be conformed again after transpose (there is an option to disable this for all steps - in the Option panel).

So think of this 'fx apply per step' as similar to Effectrix, but for midi.
