Smart Volume Automation, Beyond Human Precision

M-Leveller is an intelligent event-based volume automation plug-in that delivers consistent levels with unmatched transparency and superhuman precision. It adjusts the gain of audio events right before they occur, ensuring precise control without compromising dynamics or tone.

*** This is an AUv3 audio plug-in designed for use in digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Logic Pro or GarageBand. ***

Manually automating volume in a mix can be time-consuming and inconsistent. M-Leveller streamlines this process with intelligent event-based automation, adjusting levels with precision beyond human capability. It identifies individual notes or phrases and applies seamless adjustments, ensuring a naturally balanced mix without the need for extensive manual editing.

Compression works best when audio levels are already well-balanced, and that's where M-Leveller makes a big difference. By evening out volume inconsistencies before compression, it ensures a more stable input signal, allowing compressors to focus on shaping dynamics rather than compensating for sudden level changes.

Key features:

  • Event-based transparent volume automation.
  • User-defined target peak level control.
  • Noise floor control to exclude unwanted sounds.
  • Perceptual filter for human-like loudness sensitivity.
  • Real-time input/output waveform display.
  • External sidechain level matching.
  • Adjustable levelling speed for fine-tuning dynamics.
  • Mix Assist for intelligent parameter setting.
  • Gain adjustment mode (boost, cut, or both.
  • Undo/redo functionality.

  • Well this looks very interesting

From the cats that released the free T-DeEsser

But this one is a $25 beast. There's a lot going on here just from the preview pics on the store page

    Very curious, but not $25-day-one-curious

T-DeEsser is a pretty quality product for the free pricetag. Quite interested in the standard* review crew taking a few to lemme see what they can do

*Not in terms of quality, but in terms of recognizable faces 😁

Agree it seem a bit much for a 'one trick pony' .. sounds interesting but not at that price. Maybe FMR has sat a new precedence already... hope not.

The ones with the power to set precedents are actually the buyers haha. Few people will be interested in buying this at that price, I'd wager.

Yeah - by not buying "overpriced" apps, the prices will come down.

Or the apps might just walk away…

It surely has to introduce latency. Probably significantly. I doubt it's suitable for use while playing live, but sounds useful for mixing and mastering.

As for the price tag, I would say any professional that has need for something like this wouldn't hesitate a second (though they're probably using desktop anyway). Not many of use are professionals at that level. We're not the market, but I bet there is a significant market even at that price.

Yep exactly. I'll buy it because I've been waiting for a tool like this on iOS. It's a no-brainer for professional use. A steal at this price.
I usually do all my sound design and dialogue editing work on desktop, but with tools like this i have almost everything i need to do smaller projects on iPad. Fun!

Yes Wim, mostly users of this forum are probably not the market. Seems people are mainly using this on vocals, and that seems to be a rarity anyway around these parts, at least judging by the 'creations' section.

There's an interesting thread on this app over at Gearspace:

    https://techivation.com/m-leveller/

    Desktop version is $130, wow.

From the comments on the Gearspace thread, it sounds like it's difficult to use correctly unless you really know what you're doing.

  • You’ll throw this one on master or individual tracks?

  • I don’t understand why developers just won’t release for iPhone.

  • complete useless

  • but a fancy spiral in there

Usually you would use it on individual tracks. So using it in a DAW with PDC (Plugin Delay Compensation) would be preferred I would think.

  • Is it really the first app like this on IOS?

Isn't this in a similar ballpark, I think?:

And I don't actually see that app any more, just a bundle: https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/pham-thang/id905192443

  • Yeah I got maze rider and bass leveler. With high hopes it seemed ok, but now are seemingly abandoned. I can't redownload on one of my devices ahh.
