VAPolyTS is polyphonic synthesizer for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is inspired by the synthesizers which contributed to shape iconic sounds of Trance, House and Techno Music in 1990's. It operates as a stand alone or as an AudioUnit Extension (AUv3). Stand Alone supports Ableton Link, MIDI and audio file export.

The synthesizer features two stack oscillators. The one of them can generate mix of detuned seven oscillator outputs. The other one can generate mix of several octave shifted oscillator outputs. It also features a mixer, a resonant low pass filter, a resonant hight pass filter, an amplifier, two envelope generators, two LFO and analog style step sequencer.

Built-in Effects include delay, chorus, flanger, reverb, eq and compressor. VAPolyTS also includes sequencer which features piano roll editor and parameter automation. Project files can be saved in iCloud Drive, so that the project can be accessed from iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Comments

  • I've got VApolyMT and VApolyFM, great sounds but they both have a peculiar behaviour. If you hold a chord down and try to play a melody over it, it will count each pressed and released note up to the total voices selected, then voice steal from the chord. It acts as if released notes are still held, not actual polyphony. :-/

  • Sounds like a jp8000 clone, except it's hard to tell this apart from any other synths by this developer visually as usual.

  • When I saw this I thought I'd open one of the ones I already have: VAPolyMkII and I just can't befriend it, no matter how hard I try. If I could sell or return all of the stuff I have from Mr Togawa, I would.

I mean they sound great so if you can handle them, good for you.

All his other releases also seem to be on sale.

  • His synths are good but the UI makes it unusable for me. I have 2 i really like the sounds but I dont use them because I can read nothing

I realize reusing elements from prior projects speeds up the development process (and no disrespect intended), but I personally cannot tell one synth from the other. These need to look distinctly different with visual cues that help the user understand why they need all of these apps, instead of getting the impression they're all the same app.

  • Yea, I love his synths a lot. The west coast is favorite so far. The names really need some help and also noting the apps differences. I feel like. he puts so much time and effort into these but it's a lil confusing. Cheers tho
    !

  • In curious if anyone knows of this synth is now MPE capable?
"Supporting Midi 2.0 per note control messages" suggests that it could be, but previous synths of his haven't been.
