Triggering a specific envelope from midi in generative patches
I’m probably not seeing the trees, being in the forest and all, but here’s the situation:
I’m creating generative patches in AUM. Could be mix of Fugue, Cykle and Zoa creating the midi notes.
Now, let’s say it’d be cool to have a filter or other effect run at random times, but with predefined modulation/automation.
My preferred solution would be a midi triggered dedicated envelope/MSEG that could then modulate a specific effect. The midi generators above could then more or less randomly send a control signal to initiate.
It can be done by using “flux pro” being triggered in one shot mode, sitting as an unused effect on its own mixer channel in AUM, after which it sends its envelope automation out as midi. This allows for on the fly calling of an envelope modulation.
But… it’s a bit of a hack, and wildly inefficient since it means loading an entire effect and ignoring most of it, just to hijack its envelope.
Maybe there’s a cool envelope/lfo app that allows for the same precise design flux does, but without all the other fluff?
Or maybe there’s a way to call multiple recorded automations with one command, like an X/Y pad play?

Here's a Mozaic script with a simple ADSR envelope that can be triggered by midi: https://patchstorage.com/midi-adsr/
But the best such thing to me is Drambo's Graphic Modulator. You can build any kind of curve and trigger and/or loop it via midi, sending midi ccs out from it.
Check here for some other Mozaic possibilities: https://abwiki.loopypro.com/doku.php?id=mozaic_scripts_list#cc_scripts
Also, FAC Envolver can trigger envelopes by MIDI in addition to by incoming audio transients.
@wim your mozaic uploads are fantastic. The spectrum generator is perfect!
Thanks @egobeats - I'm glad they're useful. I hardly ever use them myself. 😂
