This is your brain on drugs…

What was I thinking? For some reason I just decided to drive over to High Haven in Darien. It’s a really nice place. Not like the typical boring industrial concrete wall warehouse dope outlets. They have beautiful wood paneling, sparkling glass display cases, cool background music, and really nice people from my generation. They made me feel right at home. I’m an older guy, old enough to be your… older brother. I bought something called Daze Off. Looked harmless enough. When I got home, I did a few tokes and… holy guacamole! This new stuff ain’t nothing like the old stuff. Anyway, this is what I came up with.

Thanks bro. You’re far out! Pass it over from the left hand side.

  • You should make Sci-fi movie sountracks

  • Very cool track P, I also had some sort of a flashback or whatever it's called a few months ago. Bought some stuff (still illegal here) and it's been 20 years since I was a regular huff-puff. Fun but too expensive for me. Anyway, great track bro! Below, me listening to it.

I would love to. Do you know anybody that needs one? I’m here all week. Peace, bro.

Wow! That must have been the good stuff. I chose to go with the “senior discount” weed. Most of the people in the shop were old dudes like me. Imagine that. Anyway, I hope this translates right…

    Ha en vacker dag!

  • What ever it is you’re smoking…keep it up- if we get more tracks like this.

  • I’m assuming there was some gin in this mix, too. I envy you your elevation!

  • @SirMcp @LinearLineman "This is your brain on drugs" comes from an old anti-drug commercial from the 80s. It's also something we used to say when we saw somebody doing something strange or crazy. I thought it would make for a good subject line with an amusing little story, and I had this trippy little soundtrack, so I posted it.

Getting high was fun and interesting, but a bit of a disappointment. It was nothing like I remembered, or hoped for. I think I'll just stick with a nice dry Martini, when appropriate and in moderation, of course.

For my next trick (track) I will be posting a death metal/protest/rap song. I don't think I've done one of those yet. I think there might be a few folks that will take it seriously. Actually, it's pretty hilarious when you consider the source - an old white guy, sitting out on his middle-class, suburban patio in Docker shorts. Cheers!

Wow, this track, in a strange way, is disturbingly like an experience I had. It sounds great, don’t get me wrong, but it has a certain feel.

My friends and I ate a piece of a cookie that was supposedly made with marihuana. I remember telling my friends, “man, I don’t feel anything” and then they slid me another piece across the table.

Ten minutes later I felt like I was disappearing intermittently. Just like spacing out and sudden coming back. … and then the hallucinations happened, where I thought I died and was being born again. Or something.

    Learned my lesson!

  • Nice sounds!

The commercial-grade products are on a different level from what those of us who remember Nancy Reagan used to not inhale in our youth. A couple years ago now I picked up a pack of gummies and decided to try just a quarter of one as a starting point. Couldn't sleep for 24 hours and felt like my brain was full of Perrier. Made me wonder why anyone would make such a high-concentration product. I don't know how people handle it without developing psychosis. (It worked out to cut them into small pieces.)

Why, this is a bag of shit! But it’s really great shit. - Firesign Theater

  • True story from the mid 70’s in DeKalb, IL… a couple of friends were driving to a place out in a cornfield we called ‘the trestle” and got pulled over for something or other. The cop found an open bag of it under the seat that had been there for months and completely forgotten about. It was kind of all stuck together in one piece. They were arrested and taken to the station where the chief said “I know a cow shit when I see it” and let them go.

Great track BTW. I think I got a contact high from it. My brain on @Paulieworld .

  • 3/4 of a pint of weak IPA probably didn’t put me in the right frame of mind to listen to this 😊
    Still enjoyed it though 👍
